It's too early to panic, but I'm legitimately worried about this team.
If we're already in a slump now, playing honestly awful defense ever since the Suns game, and shooting ice-cold from beyond the arc, what are we going to do half way, three quarters of the way through the season when our old team starts to feel the length of the season?
Every great team loses games to inferior teams. The Cavs have already lost to the Bulls and the Raptors and the Magic got blown out by the Thunder of all teams. Still, this team is built around playing great defense and shooting well from behind the arc, and even in games we've won recently we haven't done either of those things. So I'm worried.
Last night we attributed our loss in large part to rebounding; tonight, we beat the Pacers on the boards by a significant margin but we still got beaten, and we still gave up a lot of points.
The truly awful free throw shooting is very discouraging also. There's no excuse for it.
Honestly, this team started the season talking about winning 72 games and guaranteeing a championship, but I just don't feel like they actually want it. Maybe they need to get focused and remember that the postseason is a long way away. We can't sleep our way through the regular season.
