It's too early to panic, but I'm legitimately worried about this team.

If we're already in a slump now, playing honestly awful defense ever since the Suns game, and shooting ice-cold from beyond the arc, what are we going to do half way, three quarters of the way through the season when our old team starts to feel the length of the season?

Every great team loses games to inferior teams.  The Cavs have already lost to the Bulls and the Raptors and the Magic got blown out by the Thunder of all teams.  Still, this team is built around playing great defense and shooting well from behind the arc, and even in games we've won recently we haven't done either of those things.  So I'm worried.

Last night we attributed our loss in large part to rebounding; tonight, we beat the Pacers on the boards by a significant margin but we still got beaten, and we still gave up a lot of points.

The truly awful free throw shooting is very discouraging also.  There's no excuse for it.

Honestly, this team started the season talking about winning 72 games and guaranteeing a championship, but I just don't feel like they actually want it.  Maybe they need to get focused and remember that the postseason is a long way away.  We can't sleep our way through the regular season.

I don't know what happened but this is not the same team that came out and beat the Cavs on opening night. We suck right now, and that's putting it lightly. We've been on the short end of the officiating stick and even then I don't know how much that would do. We need to shape up.
CB Draft - New York Knicks
PG: George Hill / Nate Robinson
SG: Dwyane Wade / Gerald Henderson / Christian Eyenga
SF:  Grant Hill / Paul George / Earl Clark
PF:  Kenyon Martin / Jordan Hill / (Earl Clark)
C:   Greg Oden / Kurt Thomas / Hilton Armstong

That's really the best way to put it.  This is not the same team that came out on opening night and beat the Cavs at home.  I don't know what happened to that team.  I just hope we weren't overperforming then - hopefully we're just severely underperforming right now.

The only huge thing that happened between that game and now is Rondo getting a new contract. Wonder how much his performance has slipped. He has the ability to affect this teams performance like no other player...

It isn't the same team. A few days ago, Ainge secretly traded everyone on the roster except Pierce for 'Toine, Tony Delk, Eric Williams, Walter McCarty, Tony Battie, Marcus Banks, and Dino Radja.  Or at least it seemed like that happened tonight.

Was a little behind watching this game on the DVR and about halfway through the third-quarter I just got so disgusted that I fast-forwarded toward the end.

Because I knew it wasn't going to happen.

This same crap happened early last year and I said the same thing then - I need a little time away from this team if this is what I have to look forward to to cheer up my winter in balmy New England.

Yeah, if we don't at least put up a good game against the Magic next Friday, I think I'm going to take a break from following this team.
