I like that fact that he's NOT shooting free throws. God though, he can blow by anyone in this league, and he CHOOSES not too. Makes no sense.

Call me a conspiracy theorist. He's not attacking the rim what so ever. Rondo wants to lead the league in assists and steals. How else can you explain 10 FTA in 9 games? His best offensive weapons are points in the paint. He won't get accolades by scoring points, but he will if he leads the league in Assists and Steals.

I feel like I have actually seen this happen a few times this season. There were definitely a few plays where he was ahead of the pack, and he dished backwards to a guy to get the assists and not the points. These plays never actually hurt us cause they were on plays where the opposition had conceded the point. However, they were still awkward and completley unneccessary padding. I think even gorman said something like Rondo "wants the assists." However, I am not sure of his thinking here. I think even if he is worried about stats teams are gonna be more impressed with a guy that averages 10 points 8 assists then a guy that averages 4 points and 10 assists.

I'm not sure why we're so quick to think the worse of our point guard's intentions...

co-sign.  he has played well to date....i chalk this up as a bad game, nothing more nothing less

And the prior game he was benched for the entire 4th quarter in favor of Eddie House because House was defending Alston better than Rondo was.  This is not of the nothing to see variety here.  There is more going on.

Actually that was 2 games ago. The game before last night he outplayed Deron Williams.

Correction, he outplayed an injured Deron Williams who had to stretch in the tunnel when he was out of the game so that he's physically able to come back in.

What you consider as stat padding might be nothing more than trying to get his team mates involved. If you pay attention to how pumped up a teammate is after they dunk the ball following a Rondo "unnecessary" backwards dish, I think you'd start to understand why Rondo keeps dishing the ball. Before believing that Rondo's all about padding assist numbers, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt :).
