Nope, you're right. This team is just plain ol' bad.

Dude, don't be a ****. I know the team isn't bad. I'm concerned with the lethargy brought on by a tough stretch of games.

What's to stop this from happening every time we have a jam-packed stretch, or in the playoffs?

lol, I'm not mocking you! Tonight's game just bored me so much

Here is a tommy point for you!

Haha, okay, we're cool dude. No hard feelings.

I'm just entertaining myself by making silly statements.

For the record, Kevin Garnett does not like basketball. And Ray Allen is too ghetto for my taste. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Oh please, Ray Allen is an angel next to that blood Paul Pierce. I hate the Celtics so much! lol

I take it back... Ray Allen is a very bad guy!

That actually makes him a great guy. In my church, elbowing Anderson Varejao in the nuts is equal to or greater than walking on water.

The sad part of that picture is the Varejao is grabbing Rays elbow to make it look like Ray is doing something. If Ray was really elbowing Varejao in the nuts Varejeo would not be standing there with his hands up looking for the REF.

Hahahahahaha that's actually true. Varejao definitely came over and delicately draped his sack on Ray's elbow. Serving it up like a dinner platter. Almost like he's making an offer....
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I hate to say it, but we looked old tonight against the Nets. Creaky. a step slow. Not lazy, but just not physically able to do things quickly.

If the Nets weren't the Nets--with 7 players, no less--we would have lost that game. Same thing for the Timberwolves.

This team seems like the best team in the league on 3 days rest; NOT the best team in the league.

I hope I'm wrong.

Tanguay and Scal and everybody involved with the team is saying it was the 8 games in 12 days that made everyone tired and lethargic, but I ask, what is going to keep the Celtics from playing in this fatigued, slow manner every time they have to play a back to back, or late in the seaason, or in the playoffs after the fatigue of a long season?

They just came off a brutal stretch and need to get back and practice. Calm down everything is going to be okay...

Celtics 7-1.    Best team in the NBA.   On pace for 70 wins.  Had they held Phoenix to 80 points instead of 110 they would be 8-0 and holding opponents UNDER 80 points a game.  Sometimes peoples expectations in a game like this are too high.  They are playing a depleted Nets team, all they have to do is win.   They won, and the Nets scored 76 points, mission accomplished.   Do you want them to look their best in this game or in June.  Who cares how they played tonight, the game is basically meaningless.   Celtics are playing great this year.

Honestly if they held Phoenix to 80 points they would be on pace to break every record in the history of the NBA, best record, best defense, largest margin of victory by a landslide.   30 points away from by far being the best team ever, I'll take it.

Uhh I don't really need to calm down right now, bud. I'm pretty chill. Just identifying a cause for concern as the season goes on--if we're out of gas after a jam-packed stretch now, what keeps us from being out of gas in the playoffs after MANY of these jam-packed stretches and the wear and tear of the regular season? A team breaking down this early is cause for concern.

Just last year the Celtics started 27-2 and didn't break down until late December. Now its happening 8 games in? Not good....

I understand where you're coming from, but have some faith. The C's haven't "broken down" yet. All that matters at this point is that they are 7-1. If any team has "broken down", it's the Cavs, and I hate to say it but they haven't broken down either. They'll be in the hunt later in the season along with the Celtics.

PSD, or Portuguese Stealth Drape, is the technical term, I believe. Lets not muddy the waters with your colloquialisms, liam.

You are giving your opinions based on the exact same sample size. You can't skew the statistics both ways just to make a point.

Fair enough. But we looked shaky as balls tonight. To the point that I got worried...and if one game is enough to make me worried, then it is one hell of a bad game--bad enough to make me worried about the whole season to come, even.

But then I can't win. That's no fun.

ALSO: I think my point is more legitimate, and for this reason:

greatness like star18 spoke of has never been sustained. Failure is way easier to maintain than success.

So the statistical probability of a team getting worse as I predicted is much higher than the statistical probability of a team sustaining the level of excellence that Star18 mentioned.

Mine has a chance of happening--his doesn't.

Well first of all... we're an elderly team.

Second... we just played 8 games in 12 nights.  That is kinda rough.  4 games in the last 5 nights... that's pretty brutal.  We've already had 3 back to backs.  What's up with that?  Pretty sure we've played more games than any other team.

And we'd be undefeated had the Suns not shot as brilliantly as they did.

Team is definitely gassed.

Based on that logic if one game is enough to cause you to worry, one good game should be enough for you to regain your confidence. So... here you go.
