Rondo and Perk wouldn't be the same exact players on an untalented team, either. They may get better numbers, but they wouldn't be the same. Less talented teams play less defense, teamwork suffers, etc. Look at Pierce in those "lost years". He wasn't the same Pierce as early in his career or now. He was more of a selfish player who played less defense. Bad teams are more individual oriented.
Another factor is that you just don't get many good role players to play for untalented teams. Do you think we'd get players like PJ Brown, Posey, House, Sheed, and Daniels to back up a team starring Rondo and Perk? Never. We'd get Dan Dickau/Scalabrine types.
