and when he was here---everyone loved his street-wise way of talking...He was a funny guy---looks like he is involved in some BAD things off the court....or is it his mental Health?

This bi-polar excuse is pretty lame.

It could be a drug issue as well.

delonte had "Three guns were found -- a 9mm Beretta in West's waistband, a Ruger .357 Magnum strapped to his leg, and a 12-gauge shotgun in a guitar case slung over his back"

delonte's father said delonte was "protecting himself."

what sort of enemy would someone have to require that kind of protection?

poor delonte has some real problems, and not just with the cops.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
- Vandana Shiva

The type that require several guns and a big ol' knife I guess.

Ya either Delonte is in hock for drug money and needs those guns to protect himself from collectors or he was on his way to rescue Sarah Connor from Governor Arnold.

Bi-polar provides a way (not the only way, but one way, when it applies) to understand why an intelligent person does crazy things.  It is not an excuse -- in that, it doesn't excuse the action.  However, it should allow for compassionate folks to think more comprehensively about providing an effective response/treatment/support once debt to society has been paid for the crime.

It's disturbing for any athlete to be carrying that much fire-power around anywhere at anytime.

Oh Delonte I hope he sorts through his problems but this doesn't look good for him. If he needed protection he should have hired a bodyguard licensed to carry a weapon.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

It's time to subtract West from the list of players Danny would consider.

This isn't "Delonte was really cool in Boston" stuff. This is "Delonte is going to jail" stuff.

Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

This is from the same incident we've known about for a while. I don't think the Cavs will do anything more at this point.

But I don't believe Delonte is an intelligent person.  Most laughed at the way he talked and acted, but I always thought he was an idiot.  I don't believe that every poor decision he makes is attributable to bi-polar disorder.
