and when he was here---everyone loved his street-wise way of talking...He was a funny guy---looks like he is involved in some BAD things off the court....or is it his mental Health?
This bi-polar excuse is pretty lame.
Bi-polar provides a way (not the only way, but one way, when it applies) to understand why an intelligent person does crazy things. It is not an excuse -- in that, it doesn't excuse the action. However, it should allow for compassionate folks to think more comprehensively about providing an effective response/treatment/support once debt to society has been paid for the crime.
But I don't believe Delonte is an intelligent person. Most laughed at the way he talked and acted, but I always thought he was an idiot. I don't believe that every poor decision he makes is attributable to bi-polar disorder.
I agree that hes wasnt the smartest guy around. Although, I always though he kind of had that burnout character in a stoner movie charm, if that makes sense. This however is disturbing.
Reminds me of Deniro in Taxi Driver, going around in public strapped like that.
He definitely has something wrong with him that leads to behavior like this. He just seems so in and out of it. Every month he is in a different mental state. Not so sure he is making excuses.
I am fearing the worst for the next piece of news we hear about Delonte.
