Any interest in this player. I used to think he had Bird like qualities, with his shooting and scoring tunnel vision.

After injury and loss of confidence the Lakers havent taken up his contract.

Ok his defence is nil, but I am sure he can turn out to be something special with the right coaching staff belief.

He can't get his shot off against NBA defenders.

The guy might be out of the league altogether after this season. The guy just can't play NBA ball.

The thing is, he has done it against NBA teams, even if briefly. He is 6 ft 8 and I believe its his confidence thats shot, not his ability. SOmeone needs to just believe in this guy and let him know the same.

He was literally the worst player in the NBA to get major minutes his rookie year.

He just can't do it at the NBA level.

The fact that the OP used Bird in the same sentence made me throw up in my mouth a little.   :-X

Not only were the Bird comparisons ridiculous when Morrison was at Gonzaga, so were the expectations of his pro potential at all.  Bird was a pretty complete player in college: a great rebounder and passer who at least tried at defense: Morrison was an incredibly one dimensional player who lacked the physical tools to perform that one dimension on the pro level.  I was shocked pro scouts were buying this and even had him as a first round pick never mind a high lottery guy.

Many guys can go off for a game or two in the NBA, even marginal guys.  Morrison has never shown anything that resembles being a guy who can play in the NBA for any extended period of time.  One of the worst draft picks in history and all the red flags were there when he was drafted.

Nice story of a guy who has overcome diabetes to get to even the level he did in college, but beyond that the kid can not play.

First off, it was not everybody and second it's was only because they are 2 ugly white guys. That's where the comparison ends. Had either one of them not been white, nobody would compare their games. Morrisons doesn't have 1/10th the court vision Bird has. Nor is he anywhere near the rebounder or passer Bird was. Sillest comparison I've ever heard.

That is funny that you say that.  This comparison makes a million times more sense than the other and it's still ridiculous.   ;D

I'd be okay with bringing him in on a minimum contract this summer.
