[dang], what a bad news to start the season... Fortunately, the signing of Shelden was made for injuries like this one but I'm not sure Williams be able to step up. It's a great opportunity for him to show his worth after all.

As for Big Baby... the mysterious circumstances of this "accident" seem enough to suspend him. It's very disappointing from his part and now I just hope he won't be out for more than two months... although it seems that he will be out for much longer time. Doesn't sound well for the old legs of Kevin, Rasheed, and the shoulder of Perk. :-\

Geez.. this is unbelievably stupid. I'm going to start calling him Glen too. Or maybe Stupid Baby. Also, if he hurt his hand on Sunday, how come he didn't seek treatment for it immediately?

Mark Spears is on WEEI and he said he got the impression this was gonna be 3-4 months.  And on another note, the way Spears talks he kinda sounds like a fool.

  • Rondo = Good
Suddenly we once again are lacking in front court depth.  Seems like you really never can have enough big men.

Good call on whomever stated that Williams will get PT over BBD that I poo poo the other day.

Davis is just a big kid and and he complains about wanting more PT and he now he'll have less.  Perfect.

I would assume Doc and Danny aren't too happy with him. Hopefully like he said the story checks out and he was defending himself but, in the grand scheme of things who cares.  Nice way to kick off the season..

That was me! I really didn't expect this to be the reason why though. I don't think we miss a beat quite honestly because I don't think that BBD was going to see a ton of time anyway. With Sheed on this squad now he will get the majority of the minutes behind KG and Perk. There are only 96 minutes at those two spots to be had and KG will get low 30's, Perk will get low 30's, and Sheed will get high 20's to low 30's. That's not much left for BBD or Williams unless one of them is in foul trouble. When you also have Scal who can take a few minutes at the PF spot it really won't even matter. I do wish him a speedy recovery though as I admire the work he put into getting himself even more trimmed down this offseason.

TP to you. I should have known better than to put faith in the 23 yr old baby.  To your point I didn't think he was going to get that much time either and Williams will be more than adequate if they need to go 4 deep at PF.

TP to you birdbrain.  I've been at odds with you on BBD for quite some time, and I'm surprised to see you write the above.  I must reluctantly admit too that I'm not happy about the injury, and going from BBD to Sheldon is most certainly a downgrade.

That's not surprising I'm sort of BBD's personal cheerleader and I have a hard time being objective.  With this latest stunt even I can see he's putting himself before the team and he deserves to be suspended.  Here's to hoping he deals with it with some maturity and comes back ready to play by the all star break.

This really stinks! Things were looking so good for us but now we have players baby and rondo, who think they are better than everyone else. I say trade baby now.

I'm not sure how Rondo got into this picture, but Baby's actions make Rondo's "immaturity" look trivial.

Does anyone know what it means to have surgery done just to examine an injury? Does that mean the injury is more or less severe than expected? I just wonder why they can't detect the injury using MRIs alone?

Well, its certainly not a good thing, but really all it tells us is that they don't know how bad it is yet.  We just have to wait.

"I am not going to call him Big baby anymore.  He is Glen and he needs to act like Glen and we will decide what to do once we talk to him" Grousbeck said

"It is very likely he will be suspended and he will have time to think about it"

What are the specific details surrounding the circumstances of the injury? I've yet to read them, yet there are many here talking about Davis as if he was the devil incarnate. Seeing the reaction by the owners, etc. it does seem like it might not be good, but come on... shouldn't you wait to know he details of what occured? I don't know, I guess I'm just one of those few that like to get the facts straight before judging someone and drawing conclusions.

So are there details available? Or are we simply just talking crap without knowing much?

I'm pretty much trusting Wyc on this one.  His reaction was very harsh, which leads me to believe that this was entirely preventable.

I think he just buries his face in the plate. ;)

In all seriousness, he was getting into decent shape.  I'm sorry to see him sidelined, even if it appears from Wyc's words that he brought this upon himself.
