Acquiring Rudy Gay

When we were shopping Rondo, I'm sure Gay came into the discussions for what would have been the Rubio pick. If they didn't take (for argument's sake) Rondo (and scraps) for Gay (and a pick) then they wont take anything else we could offer them.

Yeah, but at the time the more valuable commodity be thrown into that Rondo deal was considered the #2 pick because the Celtics could get access to Tyreke Evans or Ricky Rubio, who were both considered by Danny as franchise superstar PGs. Now all we are talking is Gay and Conly  for say Rondo, Scal or Baby and Giddens. I think that would be palatable for both sides.

I don't think the C's do that deal. Its harder to find PGs of Rondo's caliber than wings of Gays. Conley has not impressed me much either.

Now if Rondo is a much worse headcase than I think, maybe it happens. It'd still be a huge mistake.
