Rasheed's Credentials:

National High School Player of the Year

ACC's All-Time leader in FG%

1995 All-Rookie 2nd Team (Him and KG got beat out by McDyess and Smith)

2004 NBA Champion
4 time All-Star

Only player in NBA history to record 1000 blocks and 1000 3ptFG.

Has made the playoffs for 13 straight years (14 after this year)

Rasheeds numbers don't quite make the cut but he's always been a part of balanced teams, and is known as an unselfish player who would rather sacrifice personal numbers for wins.

Rasheed definitely deserves to be a Hall of Famer ... but Dennis Rodman isn't so perhaps Sheed's antics will keep him out too.

I hope Wallace makes it.

THere's a problem with the HOF anyway. Too much College basis. I do believe in Simmons idea that there needs to be an NBA hall of fame.

And Dennis Rodman needs to be a first balloter. The whole "half of rebounding is who wants it more", Rodman embodied that more than anybody.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it depends on whether we win it all this year.

If we win the championship this year, and Rasheed is a big part of it (and I'm sure he'd have to be), then he will definitely make it.

If we don't, then I'm going to say no, unless we come really close and he has a really great year.

The funniest thing is that the NBA is all about the 04 Pistons, and the Spurs and the 08 Celtics.

When a team distributes the ball and plays a team game everybody loves it, Sheed is THAT guy.

Look at some of the players that started on playoff teams 13 years in a row.

first of all Stockton and Malone both made it 19 straight years, that just nasty.

Jordan 84-98 (could have 14 but he left)
Kareem 76-89
Rasheed 96-09 (will have his 14th this year)
Magic 79-91 then 95 (left the game then returned)
Bill Russell 56-69 (his WHOLE career)
Ewing 87-00
Dennis Johnson 77-90 (was also a winner his entire career)

I'm assuming you mean as of now, since we have no idea what the future holds, and as it stands presently, he would not get in. As far as the rest of his career, no one has the answer to that, obviously, but I think he has the potential, especially on the team he now finds himself. ;) My "guess-timate"? I'd put it at 70% no, 30% yes.

You mean if The Boston Celtics win their 18th championship and Sheed is 6th man of the year? That'll get him in?

I think he'd still have to add a few more personal achievements, bit it's possible. (If he got 6th man and they win the Championship, I'd put him at more like 60/40).

Considering what he did in college, yes.

If you were just talking about his NBA career, no.

I dont think so. I mean, I love the guy. I lived in Chapel Hill but I just dont think his NBA career will get him in. It's really kind of too bad because he is one of those guys who's all around game doesnt always get noticed.

I don't think so.  There are better guys who haven't made the cut, among them Dennis Johnson, Jo Jo White, Dennis Rodman, Spencer Haywood, Marques Johnson, Artis Gilmore, George McGinnis, Mel Daniels, Bernard King, etc.

Until *all* of the above guys make the Hall, Rasheed shouldn't sniff it.

No way and its not even close.  Since when does making the allstar team a few times make someone a hall of famer?

Good for Sheed for playing on the championship Pistons, but when I look at his entire career, I still see an underachiever.  The guy had the talent to be KG dominant, but that never happened.

You're not KG good with just talent though. KG is a top 5 PF all-time, that takes a certain mental makeup as well.
