I've been dreaming a ton lately, and i'm not even sure how i feel about this, but i had a dream last night that we offered Wally a contract, and that he agreed to be our backup scoring SF for cheap. i wouldn't neccessarily be against it now, he seemed to do a pretty decent job in his time with Cleveland...

The thing is...even though I like Wally, would he be so much an upgrade over Scal? I know Wally is more talented, but at this stage of his career all he can provide is 2 or 3 three pointers per game and not a lot of defense. Scal can provide those 3's and play some D.

That said, I wouldn't mind having Wally back

Wally = Cancer.

Seriously, the fact that he can't play defense should have been the beginning AND end of this conversation.

Wally is a joke, but he's a joke who signed my shoes after a game in 2006. So, he gets a pass from me, and I won't beat on him as much as I would have otherwise (aka, a lot). In fact... I'm gonna stop right now.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

If he's expecting a guaranteed deal for more then the minimum, then he should start looking overseas.

I'd rather have JR and Hudson.  Reason being, we don't need Wally, but we can sure use a backup point guard and a defensive 2/3 (potentially).

Wally has a proven NBA level skill.

JR and Hudson do not.

I think he's probably just looking for a deal at the minimum but fully guaranteed for the year.

So what?

Wally may be able to shoot but he is absolutely useless on D.  You keep JR over him, because while he may somewhat hurt the flow of the offense with his lack of a shot, he is not the major liability on D that Wally is.  Wally's shortcomings on that side of the ball far outweigh JR's on the offensive side.

Agreed.  Besides, Wally doesn't really make that much of a positive impact anymore.  His defense is too horrible.

I'd still rather have Wally for late game offense defense situations than Hudson for just this year. But for the team's health overall we need to have some young talent...

If the question comes down to Wally vs. Hudson, I think you need to go with Hudson, mainly because this team needs an emergency PG on the roster more than another SF.  However, if they can find a taker for Tony, Giddens, or Walker, then I think Wally would be a valuable addition.  Although I think KG might think otherwise.

KG hates Wally so why even consider angering your star player who's absence last year already proved this team is incapable of winning a championship without? I want a very happy, content and personally and professionally unstressed KG playing for me. So don't even think Wally.

Remember, KG didn't even want to come here until after Danny traded Wally away. Doesn't that tell you anything?

To be fair, that was pure speculation.  KG never actually said that (publicly anyways).

But ultimately, I agree, Wally and KG don't get along, and while I don't think that would preclude them bringing in someone who could help, I don't think Wally helps enough to put the team's chemistry on the line.

I think Wally is definitely worth a guaranteed minimum deal to somebody; I'm surprised that he hasn't hooked on somewhere.
