If GS would take on Z's expiring contract, why not offer Tony and Scal before Cleveland gets him? He would fill a huge void as a big backup wing.
Because any GM that would accept Scal and TA for Big Z should be blacklisted from the league. Just becuase they're expirings doesn't mean they'll just do it, they could look at Z as an asset AND a contract.
Probably not, though. If this scenario happened with Cleveland and Golden State Illgauskas would probably be bought out or waived and head back to Cleveland for the year then retire.
If the Celtics and Cleveland were battling to aquire Jackson it'd come down to who Chris Mullin wants to see with a better chance of winning a championship.
Why would Golden State do that? They have good players on their team and Big Z could really help them, i'm not buying them trading a servicable players for JUST cap room next year.
Big Z only appears good because he plays with Lebron. He would not help the Warriors out at all even if he avoids injury
Wasn't he an all-star before Lebron and can't that game be played with lots of players? Andrew Bynum only appears good cause he plays with Kobe?
But let's not forget the style GS plays, run and gun; shoot first, second, and third, and then maybe pass fourth if they haven't already shot yet.
The only way Z will work in Nellie Ball is if Nellie has him sit at the 3 point line shooting 3's ala Manute Bol.
I can't see one of the slowest guys in the league fitting in out there.
