  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Reggie Miller paraphrased earlier today from the NBA Real Training Camp Livestream:

“I think the LA Lakers considering their team of Gasol, Kobe, Tru Warriar (sp? Does Artest care?), and considering their schedule, are really poised to challenge the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls’ record of 72 wins.  Their schedule, their first 21 games, four of them are on the road…one against Okalahoma City…one against Houston…one against Denver. Ok, lets call that a loss…..one against Golden State…the Lakers should be 20-1 after their first 21 games.
Should they win it all? Ummm..Well I think, if they’re all healthy, I like the Boston Celtics.”

Soo... The Lakers are better than us, but we're going to win the championship?

Ok, I'll take it.

I think Reggie's admitting that the East is the top to bottom tougher conference. ;D We won't get the wins but we will get the title.

I'm still hoping for both.

I hear ya.

However, right now (my absolute #1 conern is) I just want health heading into the playoffs.  If it means sacraficing 4 or 5 regular season wins, so be it.

He's not saying they are better then the Celts.  He saying thier schedual is really easy.  Because they are a very good team they should rattle off a bunch of wins (maybe 70) but the C's, when healthy are the better team.  As someone already mentioned, he seems to think the East is a better confrence.

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
While I agree with him about the C's winning it all, the Lakers will not have 70 wins. Bynum is going to get injured and Artest, while not being distracting enough to make the team crumble, will keep them from getting into 100% rhythm.

I duno bout a 100% rhythmn, but injuries or no this team won't win 72+ games. That's a little ridiculous.

Obviously I'm hoping we (Lakers) win 70+... but I'm not gonna think about it til we're at 69 wins. It's more realistic next year after keeping this same team for a year, for now I just want to see how Artest plays with the rest of the team.

And the Lakers will win the title of course.

Celtics-Lakers final could be a real classic.  To me, Gasol is the X factor. He has improved alot over the last year. If we can neutralize him, we will win. If not, the Lakers will. I just don't know the answer yet.

LA is worried about the regular season.

Boston only cares about the title.

If all are healthy, go with the team that eyes are only focused on the title.
