He's right about one thing, why sign 3 power forwards to so much cash? I guess it's just insurance. Let's hope so.

Two of those power forwards double as power forwards.  I don't think there's anything wrong with signing four big men.  As for BBD, he's barely making more annually than Scal did.

There's nothing wrong with it, it just makes one wonder. I think we have to wait and see. If the injury was as bad as Simmons is saying I don't think that they would have waited so long to have the surgery. KG is already working out. I think they are just taking it slow. We'll just have to wait and see and so will BS.

They got wallace to backup Perkins and BBD who they drafted signed for 3.5.  That isn't right by any set of criteria.

that guy responded to me

injuryexpert @celticsblog The popliteal tendon was the big issue. The spurs were causing tendon damage. Saying it wasn't tendon is chicken/egg spin.

anyone know who he is or where he gets his information from?

Thank God it's just a few more weeks and training camp will start and cameras will be rolling of KG doing something and we can all judge for ourselves.

I thought KG underwent 2 surgeries?

The first was during the playoffs and was to remove the bone spurs that were damaging the tendon.

The second was to repair the tendon that was damaged by the bone spurs.

I could be wrong but that was my understanding. . .

This offseason is going the same as last year prior to the playoffs.  They keep telling ticket buyers that everything is going fine... and slowly more and more trickles out... before you end up hearing "yeah he's not near ready".

“Kevin looks good, he’s in here working out every day,’’ Ainge said yesterday from the team’s practice facility in Waltham. “He’s doing his training, but he’s not playing full-court basketball yet.

“We’re taking it as slow and as cautious as we can with him. He’s anxious and he has a ton of energy, but I think he gets it. We don’t have bodyguards on him to keep him from working too hard. He’s on the program with the staff.

“We don’t have timetables on this. We are going week to week and we’ll make a decision on where he is.’’

No timetables?  Taking it slow?  Not playing basketball yet?  And I'm supposed to believe he's going to magically be 100% in a month or so?

Same as last year.  I'm not going to be surprised at all if I hear "Garnett will miss first 3 months of season"... and I'm not going to be surprised if it escalates from there.

I don't give credit to Simmons' theory but I must admit I'm really worried now. It's been a long time since KG had his surgery, and he is still not playing basketball while the season starts in about a month...

Plus, the reports from the Celtics staff are very similar to the ones of last season, saying that they were just delaying his return... until they revelead he wouldn't be able to compete in the playoffs.

Hopefully we are just overreacting but I wish the season (or training camp) started tomorrow, to know what's up with KG's knee.

So I can assume if he is healthy opening day you'll be here to admit you were wrong?

I know he's fine- not a feeling- I know.  Stop all this nonsense and speculation.  KG will play.

I won't believe he's fine until I see him play but, I also won't whine about some made up BS about lying to get ticket sales.

I agree with that. The celtics were going to sell enough tickets anyway, they didn't need to lie about KG's health to do so. Now if they were the clippers, it would be a different story ;D

Is "injury expert" Will Carroll, the baseball guy who's never right about anything?

I suspect it is.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

I'm not saying I know either way.  I'm just saying... this seems to mirror what was going on prior to the playoffs.   They kept telling us everything was fine and dandy, but they were really keeping the severity of the situation "hush hush"...   The approach seems to be the same here.
