bring in back up PG, Bobby Jackson comes to my mind first

"Waive Tony Allen or JR Giddens to make room for more signings"

that option is funny as hell

They were talking that the S/T for Daniels also targeted freeing a roster spot, that's why I put it. I know it's kind of...strange?? :P

I don't really care as long as we trade to get rid of TA. Trade him for Dooling or someone.

Then sign Lester Hudson so I can see him, Giddens and James White playing in Portland.

Giddens is going to play for the Celtics this season fella, maybe you'll see Walker in Maine, but not Giddens, he played best of our crew in Orlando, and Doc and Ainge said that last year, Billy The Kid has some upside in his game over Giddy, but now J.R. surpassed him and he is going to be the guy that will play this year instead of Walker, now Walker is the guy who compete for spot with Giddens. The big reason is that Walker is a slasher and scorer, Giddens is way better defender than him, so that's why they will play him, we have pretty much guys who can score, so basically Walker is not just what we need, but we already can use athletic defensive body like Giddens for some minutes in every game

spoken like a man with a jr giddens picture next to there name.

i haven't seen either giddens or walker play enough to make a judgment, however given our roster i think i will be able to evaluate both up close at the portland expo.

Which is why Giddens got less run than Pruitt, who isn't even on the team anymore. At least Bill has recorded minutes in the playoffs, Giddens couldn't even get into a game at the end of the season when we're blowing teams out by 20+

I think that says a lot about how the staff values Giddens.

yeah, but that was last year, now it's 2009 man, we live now, not in 2008, things change man, plus he has more value, why Ainge draft him instead of Walker, Chalmers...

Looking back on it now I'm taking Chalmers or DeAndre Jordan over both Walker and Giddens. Even as a huge advocate of Bill Walker, he was only fourth on my list of players I wanted most behind the two I meantion, as well as Jason Thompson.

The point I'm trying to make is that taking Giddens over any of those players was a mistake. Thompson I know wasn't on the board but the other three were.

And I don't know what you're talking about, I live in 2014, and yes the world ended, and no JR wasn't on the team after 2010.

I don't think missing with the 30th pick is a huge mistake. Not many draftees from that range of picks end up being NBA players.

Luke Walton is the last I remember doing much myself....

I'm trading Both Tony Allen and Brian Scalabrine to the Bobcats for Raja Bell. Raja Bell isn't going anywhere close to winning a ring in Charlotte. 8)

Charlotte has to agree to that trade too though...

I think the C's leave the roster spot open or with Hudson until late in the year when they'll pick up a vet min. PG. Just like the last two years.

I chose other...I think we do one of three things. We sign Lester Hudson or another camp invitee to a non guaranteed contract that gives us flexibility for later. We sign no one and save the roster spot to exploit someone else in a 2 for 1. We trade someone(s) for a draft pick or other end of bench player that we like better.

The only way we sign a veteran is if one falls in our lap that we just love and is willing to play for the minimum. I dont see one available and that valuable that can get in the rotation, even at the 10-11 slot.

i voted other.  i would like to make a trade for a backup pg.  none of the free agent pgs out there really do it for me.  trading pieces include TA, scal, giddens.  any combination of the 3 to get a good backup pg here would make me happy.
