According to Hoopshype and Houston Chronicle, Brent Barry is being shopped. He only makes 2 mil a year, expiring contract, etc. Not sure what Houston is wanting(hoping anything). So send them Tony and a draft pick and call it a day. He can play PG more often, not a great defender, but long enough to play 3 positions and hit the 3 back to back. Get em, Danny.
Can't stop, Rondo!

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
He's a solid player, he'll be a coach someday. Lucky to have him.

I dunno if he's a need right now though, with Daniels coming on board. I'd rather have him than Giddens or Tony, but if we can't afford to keep Leon Powe, I don't think we need a redundant 10th man.

My thoughts exactly. I don't know how much left he has to offer, I think we'd be better holding on to the expiring contracts until mid-season.

I'll bet he's still better than Tyronne Lue, and Carlos Arroyo.

I doubt Arroyo, but agree about Lue

I'd deal Tony for Brent Barry. Or his dad, for that matter. Or his mother.

Brent Barry is far better than Arroyo. He's done nothing in the NBA besides being picked up by sorry teams to play 3rd string PG. Brent has won a championship, and does fit our needs. It doesn't matter that we got Daniels b/c Daniels will either be our ball handler or SF, b/c he doesn't shoot that well. Put Daniels, House, and Barry on the court, along with BBD and Sheed. AWESOME bench unit, just awesome.

I'd rather sign one of those minimum contract guys who can play defense + hit a jump shot.

But I'd settle for Barry if they weren't a possibility. It would be a nice to have a second perimeter outside of the Big Three (Eddie House) who can actually hit a jump shot.

I would too, and the numbers work.  I don't see the incentive for Houston, though (and I wouldn't include a pick that has any type of value, because it doesn't seem worth it).

I love Brent's offensive game.  He would be deadly hitting those accurate quick release 3's on the C's.  Could you imagine the headaches the C's would cause other teams with Barry/Ray/House to set up around the arc in case KG or Paul get doubled?  Wow.
