On another note, if this is indeed by LLE, then this eats up most of our roster spots, as I now count 14 roster spots used up with the signing of Daniels, and that does NOT include Lester Hudson. 

So unless we make a trade, it seems that it's going to be Hudson or a vet PG, not both. 

I think the think to remember on roster spots is we have a log jam at sg.  Ray Allen (and no he is not to be traded!), Tony Allen, Giddens, House, Daniels...am I forgetting anyone?  I can't see TA or Giddens here after the trading deadline unless both really show a lot more.  Only 1-2 young guys will be kept to develop, Walker who can play sf, Hudson pg (both needed posistions) and Giddens sg

Pierce, Daniels, Walker

Now the question arises, can and will Danny do a deal to clear a roster spot by trading away a couple of players for one player? Is he done? Or is a Walker and Tony for player X deal out there waiting to happen?

I think Tony and Scal are on their way out for a guy like Nocioni. That will free up a spot for Hudson.

Or that no one values them at all.  I tend to think it's that more than Ainge valuing them.  

As for the logjam at the 2, I don't think it's as bad as some people point out.  There isn't a whole lot of difference between the 2 and 3, and guys like Giddens and Daniels certainly can and will play the 3 at times.  Furthermore, no matter how he actually functions on the floor, I expect House to be the backup "point guard" in the sense that he's the guy who will be on the floor when Rondo is out of the game.  Now he might also be on the floor with Daniels, who may be bringing the ball up the court.  But I don't expect to see House play a lot of 2 this year.  It's just bad from a defensive standpoint.  

I also don't like Hudson as the third PG.  He's probably less of a PG than House and with his level of experience being nonexistent, I really don't like him at that spot.  

If we need to cut him, so be it.  I highly doubt we're ever going to rue the day we cut Lester Hudson.

Nocioni would be nice, but Posey or Stephen Jackson would be a lot nicer.

True, that's probably what killed the deal, but their seemed to be interest in Giddens/Walker from the Pacers. Earlier in the negotiations reports suggested the Pacers wanted a package of Tony, and one of Walker or Giddens, but Danny was trying to push Pruitt instead. Just about every report that came out until Bird had the statement about Tony's character issues read the same.

True, that's probably what killed the deal, but their seemed to be interest in Giddens/Walker from the Pacers. Earlier in the negotiations reports suggested the Pacers wanted a package of Tony, and one of Walker or Giddens, but Danny was trying to push Pruitt instead. Just about every report that came out until Bird had the statement about Tony's character issues read the same.

Or teams that would be interested in Tony for salary relief weren't offering anything that Indiana was interested in.
