I hate Favre but do you know how many three time NFL MVPs there have been? 4 Manning, Brown, Unitas and Favre. I don't even have to say their first names because just about every red blooded American male knows their names when mentioned with the word football.

How many three time consecutive MVPs have there been? One. Favre.

Since 1999 he's thrown for over 3800 yards 7 times. Over 20 TDs in a season 9 times. Had a completion percentage over 60% 7 times. Had a QB rating over 90 4 times. Won 10 or more times in a season 5 times and has started 160 consecutive regaular season games in that time.

To say he's been bad for 10-11 years is absurd.

I hate him, and yes, I too think he is urinating on his legacy. He should have retired 2+ years ago. But, he was one of the greatest of all time and is more than deserving of the HOF.

Let's not forget that Oscar Robinson, Bob Cousy, Willie Mays, Gordie Howe and a host of other athletes that were once beloved and the greatest ever in their sports just couldn't shut it down until they were embarrassingly bad. Favre is the same. Doesn't mean he isn't a HOFer.

He is absolutely a HoF. But he's always thrown too many picks. That's the absolute worst thing a QB can do. Its no coincidence that he's ended his team's seasons multiple times by throwing awful picks late in games or in OT. During the regular season and playoffs.

Thomas Jones on Favre

"We're a team and we win together ... but at the same time, you can't turn the ball over and expect to win," Jones said in an interview Tuesday with New York Hot 97 FM. Favre threw three interceptions in the Jets' season-ending 24-17 loss to Miami that clinched the AFC East for the Dolphins.

"The other day, the three interceptions really hurt us. I mean, that's just reality," Jones told the radio station. "If I were to sit here and say, 'Oh, man, it's OK,' that's not reality. ... I don't like it, I know everybody else on the team doesn't like it.

"If somebody is not playing well, they need to come out of the game," Jones told Hot 97 FM. "You're jeopardizing the whole team because you're having a bad day. To me, that's not fair to everybody else. You're not the only one on the team. So when you get to the wire and somebody is just giving the game up, I mean, it's just not [fair]."

Kerry Rhodes on Favre
"If he's dedicated and he wants to come back and do this, and do it the right way ... and be here when we're here in training camp and the minicamps and working out with us ... then I'm fine with it," Rhodes said. "But don't come back if it's going to be half-hearted or he doesn't want to put the time in with us."

Unnamed Veteran On Favre
A veteran Jets player, quoted anonymously by Newsday, described Favre as a "distant" teammate who, when at the Jets' practice facility, spent his downtime away from teammates in an office specially designated for him.

"There was a lot of resentment in the room about him. He never socialized with us, never went to dinner with anyone," the player told Newsday.

It does Kinda stink as a Pats fan because I am more confident in the patriots chances against the Jets if Favre was playing for them.

You can have phenomenal stats but if you throw 4 picks in the playoff loss that makes you a bad QB

This is like if Jerry Rice had all the stats he had except every time he got in the playoffs he had ten drops. That would make him a bad wide receiver.

Also he gave Strahan a sack for the record and it was pathetic.
Jerry Rice is a bad receiver?!?!?!?!

Okay...no more debating football with eja. It's not worth wasting my time.

No no no. I said it would be like if. IF. If that happened every time then he WOULD have been a bad receiver. But of course that didn't happen.

Post-season success is important, but regular season performance is more important. Too few teams make the playoffs in the NFL and its a much larger sample size.

I'd go so far as to say that Farve might be the single worst QB that ever won a Super Bowl and went to a Pro Bowl.

He has GOT to be the worst QB that ever did that and won an MVP.

He hasn't even been a top 12 QB in the league for years now.

There are a lot of QBs that are not so great that are better than him. Backups too

Chad Pennington
Matt Leinart
every QB drafted in the first round this year
Chris Simms
Jason Campbell
Billy Volek
Matt Cassell
Jake Delhomme
Trent Edwards
Brady Quin
Derek Anderson
Mike Vick
Jeff Garcia
possibly Alex Smith

trent dilfer anyone???

Ya he probably will, however the Vikings are a pretty well followed team anyways so maybe not in Ticket Sales, but I would much rather not have a team killer in my locker room.

Kellen Clemons should have started that last game for the Jets and probably some before that, but Favre was to concerned about his record and killed the teams chances.

thats why they almost had a few games blacked out. I see you saying that he sucks and he only has one SB. I've been a life long fan of the packers and i can tell you Brady, Manning and pretty much any other QB wouldnt have won anything either with the teams/coaching he had around him.

Actually, Brady did, when he won with wide receiving core of troy brown and david patten and antoine smith as a running back.

Brady also has a figgn brain for a coach. The question how many would he have won with that team?

Let me clarify. Bill has more coaching ability in his pimky than every coach the Packers have had since Holmgren. Had Sherman a brain there would have never beed 4th and 26. You can pile on him all you want and point out the int's, but I can point to you every other record that he has. I guess having the most career wins, starts, td's is soemthing that you obtain by being overrated.
I dont have a problem if people want to hate the guy. But at least be logical and fair in the argument, and please base the opinion off of fact. I would like to know how many that say "only on super bowl" even know anything about the team after holmgern and wolf left?

Now.

But the angry one has a point. Let's not forget what a great QB this guy was simply because he doesn't know when to hang them up.

See Willie Mays, Bob Cousy, Gordie Howe, Oscar Robinson, and many many others. Some just make asses out of themselves because they can't let go.

right but he has been no better than an average quarterback for the last ten years but he has been given a . . . free pass for those ten years and people just keep saying how great he was.  He was a great QB for a few years, A good QB for a couple then average. Rich Gannon was a great QB for a couple of years too.

thats right, didnt think you would hear a Rich Gannon reference today did ya? ;)
