He's been either VERY good or VERY bad; rarely just "OK".  End of the 2005 season, last ten games; six picks, TWENTY ONE interceptions.  Not too many QBs don't get replaced after that!

I hate Favre but do you know how many three time NFL MVPs there have been? 4 Manning, Brown, Unitas and Favre. I don't even have to say their first names because just about every red blooded American male knows their names when mentioned with the word football.

How many three time consecutive MVPs have there been? One. Favre.

Since 1999 he's thrown for over 3800 yards 7 times. Over 20 TDs in a season 9 times. Had a completion percentage over 60% 7 times. Had a QB rating over 90 4 times. Won 10 or more times in a season 5 times and has started 160 consecutive regaular season games in that time.

To say he's been bad for 10-11 years is absurd.

I hate him, and yes, I too think he is urinating on his legacy. He should have retired 2+ years ago. But, he was one of the greatest of all time and is more than deserving of the HOF.

Let's not forget that Oscar Robinson, Bob Cousy, Willie Mays, Gordie Howe and a host of other athletes that were once beloved and the greatest ever in their sports just couldn't shut it down until they were embarrassingly bad. Favre is the same. Doesn't mean he isn't a HOFer.

How many Superbowls has the man won? If you replace him with a "Game Manager" how many of those teams would have had a better shot at winning.  I know the Jets would have been better last year.

They didnt chant, "We want Klemens, We want Klemens!" at the last game of the season for no reason

First of all, with all due respect to Tavaris Jackson and Sage, screw both of them. If they weren't already told, I think deep inside they both know neither of them is better than Brett Favre. When Brett supposedly "retired" in early August, AP and Jaren Allen, who can be considered the team leaders for the Vikings if anyone on that team can, was begging Favre to come back. Forget what the media or coaches are telling ya, how do you feel when a player who wasn't even there last year is being begged by your team leaders to play the position you're supposed to be competing for? I don't think it's a big secret to anyone in the Vikings organization that Favre would start if he came to the Vikings.

Now, should Favre had played this merry go round game with the Vikings, with us? No, probably not. He should probably learn to make up his mind on things like this; he clearly can't let go of the game, no matter how bad he supposedly wants to. But, I will agree with the guys who are irked at the fact he goes out of his way to avoid training camp. I suppose if nothing else, that's where the "prima donna" sigma starts being thrown at Favre, and I understand that.

Outside of that, Favre at 40 is still better than anything the Vikings have, or what any players have on their roster right now. Whether Favre lives up to that is up to him.

Oh, and all of you guys saying Favre's "not that good, but everyone keeps saying he is for some reason...", don't say that in the wrong places if you don't like being embarassed. Thanks.

I don't care how good, or how bad he may or may not be. He just needs to go away. I'm honestly sick of hearing the name Brett Farve. I try my best to ignore it, or do whatever but somehow that name keeps popping up.

I dunno I feel like Sage and Tavaris can throw bad picks in big spots, Im not sure what else Favre brings to the table.

Headlines and ticket/merch sales.  If you don't think Favre is going to make the Vikings 10 times his salary, even throwing 35 interceptions, then you aren't paying attention.

Ya he probably will, however the Vikings are a pretty well followed team anyways so maybe not in Ticket Sales, but I would much rather not have a team killer in my locker room.

Kellen Clemons should have started that last game for the Jets and probably some before that, but Favre was to concerned about his record and killed the teams chances.

You can have phenomenal stats but if you throw 4 picks in the playoff loss that makes you a bad QB

This is like if Jerry Rice had all the stats he had except every time he got in the playoffs he had ten drops. That would make him a bad wide receiver.

Also he gave Strahan a sack for the record and it was pathetic.

That is mean. To both Favre and ARod

And his name is French. What ever happened to good football names like Unitas and Butkis and Nietchke?

I dunno maybe if Favre took some roids from Arods cousin he may get some arm strength back and would lob passes like Chad Pennington

I am a Bears fan and I really have no fear of Farve. He had a [dang] strong running game in NY and fell apart last season.

His questionable decision making and age limit any effectivess the Vikings offense will gain.

I dont blame you, i am a diehard Pats fan but i lived in Minnesota for awhile and root for the Vikes kinda, but i can't do that with Favre there.

If they just used Tavaris they would of ran the ball all the time then used some play actions, i mean Jackson had 9 TD's and only 2 picks last year. Now Favre will go there, they will certainly pass more with him there and he will make a ton of dumb throws. I can see a season of around 15 td's and 20+ picks, while Tavaris isnt anything special i think they would of been better off with him. I think its entirely possible that they now miss the playoffs where without him i think they win that division.

Feel the same way. Never lived there but have always been a fan of Minny somewhat going back to the days of Chris Doleman, Joey Browner, Keith Millard, Anthony Carter and the like. I was actually surprised they didn't look at Vick. I could've handled that too...but not this. Not this. Why won't he just die? Why can't we kill him?? He's like a cockroach.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...
