Here it is
http://msync.org/health/GeneralMotorsDiet.html

Its called the "Gm Diet", although GM has offically renouced any affiliation ever with it.

Basically it breaks down to this.

Day One

All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consists of all fruits you want. It is suggested you consume lots of watermelon and cantaloupe.

Day Two

All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the new and cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the account or type. Avoid oil and coconut while cooking vegetables. Have large boiled/baked potato for breakfast.

Day Three

Any mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice. Any amount, any quantity. No bananas yet and no potatoes today.

Day Four

Bananas and milk. Today you will eat as many as eight bananas and drink three glasses of milk. You can also have one bowl of vegetables soup.

Day Five

Today is a feast day. You will eat 1 (one) cup of rice. You also have to eat 6 (six) whole tomatoes and drink 12 (twelve) glasses of water today to cleanse your system of the excess uric acid you will be producing.

Day Six

Today is another all vegetables day. You must eat 1 cup of rice today and eat all the vegetables you want cooked and uncooked to your heart's content.

Day Seven

Today your food intake will consist of 1 cup rice, fruit juice and all the vegetables you care to consume. Tomorrow morning you will be five to eight kilograms lighter than 1 week ago. If you desire further weight loss, repeat the program again. Repeat the program as often as you like, however, it is suggested that you rest for three days before every repetition.

So I did one week on it. I lost 11 pounds. I took a week off (it is hard), and now I'm doing it again.

I don't know however how much more raw celery, carrots, or canatlope I can eat. And the Wonder Soup? I wonder if I'm going to vomit the next time I eat it.

I also need to drink 2 glasses of wine per night after the first week for digestion.

I need help with recipes, and types of nutritionally viable but tasty wine, ideas?

No, I workout every day for at least 25 mins, and I watched what I ate (except at a cookout on sunday), so I still lost 3 more lbs as of sunday night.

Doesn't sangria need fruit juice and sugar? Those are big no-nos. Cream too, so no iced coffees :(

How much weight are you looking at losing? Not to be nosey, but I'm ready to hop onto the weight loss train again myself.
From Highschool till now, I've gained about 60 lbs.(4 years removed)During my wife's first pregnancy, I gained about 30+lbs with her. She gained 76lbs, and was able to lose it all. She paid a ridiculous amount of money for LA Weightloss(bankrupt or close to it at this point) But I followed similar rules with her, And lost 25 of the 30 lbs.
The food portions were smaller. 3 meals and 2 snacks in between. Drink only water and diet soda. No added salt. Each meal had to have no more than a specified amount of sodium, calories, etc. I look to do something similar, but this time I have a RUSH membership I hope to take advantage of. If you have any interest in starting a Celtics Blog Weight Loss Game, message me some time. I'm all in for it. Good Luck
Can't stop, Rondo!

I'm trying to drop about 70 pounds before next spring. I tried playing Rugby this summer, a game I was good at before I got fat and lazy and I am no longer good at it.

I remember every single time lack of lateral quickness, strength or speed made me look silly. It is a great motivator.

This website is better, it explains the logic behind it. I've taken classes on physiology and its still kind of a mystery to me.

That's a bizarre diet IP.  You must have some crazy poops (seriously)!

I guess if it works, go for it.

I gotta get back on the diet / workout thing after summer.
Yup

Actually, the poops are regular and not bad at all. You eat a metric ton of fiber.

Actually Redz, I highly recommend it if you're gonna jump back in. Its like swimming in early june...you don't wade in, you run in full boar. Its a good kickstart to a weight loss effort.

A word of caution.

The general "Soup" diets, while they do work they are not something that is intended for continues use, as far as im informed they are the prefered manner of dieting by hospital patients, with heart conditions that need to loose a masive amount of weight prior to getting surgery in a 12-14day weight loss period.

While i have no experience with this perticular diet

(for many years i worked with a athletic school of sorts, where teaching about general health was a common place, so prior to having the students going on the diets to try them on their own bodys, the staff would try them short term so they would have prior knowagle about what the week would be like)

I have heared hospitals will only allow their patients one run though of this diet, presumably because of the effects it has on the body.. if the patients requires more dieting after the diets completion, they would be moved onto another less stressfull diet.

I wont sit here and tell you to stop doing something that works and has a positive effect on your lifestyle but in your stead i would consult my doctor with the specifics about the diet and a health checkup before continuing with it.

But with that said, congratulations with your results, it takes great effort to go though what you did and i hope you can keep the effort and results up

I'm actually about to try the men's health belly off diet.  They give you a week of recipes, 5 meals a day, for 8 weeks.  The coolest thing is they give you a printable grocery list of items to cover all the meals.  Anyone tried that yet?

Also, www.thedailyplate.com is a free site i've always used.  Its excellent in tracking weight loss/calorie intake.  Always gives you better alternative eating ideas too.  You can even make it a social site and add friends and glimpse at what they are eating to get some ideas.

fitrex is another great site for free weight loss or specific workouts tailored for what you want to accomplish.  sports prep, calorie burn, etc..

And i'm in the same boat.  I want to lose 70 pounds by next spring too.  I've gained it in just over that amount of time, and would like it gone.  Good luck brother.
