If we sign another point guard, they're not likely to be part of the rotation.  They'll be one of those "break-glass-in-case-of-emergency" players, someone who can step in and play 35 minutes if Rondo twists his ankle.  Someone who can bring the ball up the court and get the ball into the hands of Pierce/Ray/KG.  Someone who's not going to be a huge negative on the court, as I'm worried Eddie might be if we asked him to play the point for 40 minutes.

That makes me leery of bringing aboard someone as old as Bobby Jackson; if we needed him to play 35 minutes a game for two or three weeks, could his body handle it?  He might be OK as a 10- or 15-minute/night player, but that's not really what we need; we need someone who basically is going to be OK with racking up DNP-CDs all season long, but if there's an injury can play big minutes.

I don't know how anyone can advocate for Jason Williams after he's been out of the league for a year.  He was on the decline even before he retired, and even in his prime couldn't play a lick of D.  NY kicked the tires and declined to pursue him, despire the fact that their starting PG is Chris Freakin' Duhon.  If the C's want to bring him in for a workout, fine, but I don't think ANY of us are in a position to really say "WHITE CHOCOLATE'S THE ANSWER!" when we haven't seen him on the court in ages.

Ty Lue...   I don't care.  I don't see how he would hurt, I like him better than Pruitt, but again - he won't see the court UNLESS Rondo gets hurt.

Best-case; trade for Dooling.  Seems to make sense for both teams, save NJ some $$ as they retool, we get a guy who can play the point, play some D, and *would* likely be a member of the regular rotation.  He's veteran but not ancient like Jackson.  Give them either Tony and Giddens/Walker (pray that we keep the right one), or Tony and some cash to pay some of his salary.

If we could add Dooling - a proven, albeit limited - backup at the PG spot, we're pretty solid across the board on the bench.  If it's a Tony + Giddens trade for Dooling, that would still leave one roster spot open; bring aboard a couple of fringe-NBA guys (Swift?) and let them battle it out with Hudson for that last spot on the roster.

Ya, as somebody that really has no respect for Tyronn Lue's game I still wouldnt mind having him here to sit on the bench.  It could be worse, we could be giving TA minutes.

This team, with Eddie at the 1 and Sheed at the 5 with the Big Three will be nearly unguardable in the half court.  You can't double team off anyone.
That gives me goosebumps.  :)

Lue stands with the one foot on Europe.

He has an offer by a Greek team and they are very confident they`ll sign him.

15th man is an insurance policy.  Lue seems like a good fit --for that roster spot we want locker room presence and an understanding of the game offensively and defensively--Lue would be solid if not spectacular in all those --

Also he is, after all, one of our superstar's best friends and the guy who convinced KG to come to Boston!

Question is Lester --does he get a shot first or do we bring in a vet with a guaranty or a vet to compete with Lester?

Yeah, that's all well and good until House is pressed and turns the ball over before hen can even get it beyond the half court line.

The guy is still having nightmares featuring Lindsey Hunter.

In the realgm boards a guy claims the opposite ???:

"Hi!Here's a story from Greece.A greek club(PAOK) made an offer to Lue but he rejected it this evenin because according to some reports he's agreed with Celtics.I can give you a link if you want but it's in greek. The site that wrote it is not very reliable though."

Just let Pierce or Allen take the ball up, problem solved.

That why we have Daniels. I'm not a fan of Pierce or Ray bringing up the ball. Let them rest on the bench.

The latest on this is that the only thing that keeps him from signing is the possibility of playing for a contender.
I`m quoting the a reliable reporter "He`ll come unless he gets an offer from Celtics. The chances today are 70-30 he`ll play for PAOK"

i was just talking about the super offense lineup of House/Allen/Pierce/KG/Sheed, im very happy with Marquis taking up time in the second unit while PP chills.

Seems you were right on, man:

"PAOK close to Tyronn Lue

The rumours which insisted that PAOK was close to signing an NBA player whose name would have an impact in Europe are coming true as the club is close to getting Tyronn Lue."

Guess Lue is no longer an option, we could probably find a better backup vet pg anyways.
