I think one factor that many people are overlooking is that not only did Leon have another ACL surgery, he also had micro fracture as well. For anyone that does not know, that is when they drill holes in your knee. It is a serious procedure.
How much trauma can one knee take and continue to recover? Will Leon Powe ever be the same player he once was? While I beleive if anyone can recover, its Leon. But if I am in charge of an organization and have a limited window to win another championship, it would be too much of a gamble to sign Leon until he gets healthy and proves he can still play.
In Shelden Williams, the C's get a bigger, more physical defender, someone that can rebound, and someone that comes from a great program. Williams knows how to play the game. I think Clifford Ray will do wondders for his offensive game. WIll he ever be a bigtime scorer? No, but he will improve and I beleive he will be an excellent role player off the bench. I think he compliments Baby and can play along side Baby, KG or Sheed.
