1.) Iverson never accepts a vet min contract.

2.) Iverson nevers accepts a make do contract that basically is a try out.

3.) Iverson never accepts a bench role.

4.) Iverson never accepts an extremely limited amount of minutes.

5.) Iverson never accepts the fact that his primary responsibility will be team defense.

6.) Iverson never accepts the Celtic culture of defense, practice and ubuntu.

7.) Iverson never accepts the role of facilitator instead of shot maker.

8.) Iverson never accepts the fact that he will be 8th to 9th on the pecking order of importance on this team and in the locker room

But if somehow AI could accept ALL of these things and prove over the first couple of months that he actually does accept them. Invite him in and keep him.

i agree

I Would do it in a heartbeat. I think Boston is the only team in the league Iverson would be willing to come off the bench for....I think Iverson will understand what his role would be if he came to Boston....I think he would understand how great of a move and how low-risk high reward it be for his career...and most importantly Boston has a very strong locker room...and Iverson would not pass up, and make at least half of the shots Stephon Marbury passed up...........Bringing in iverson for the celtics means that he would serve as the backup point guard, and provide scoring on the 2nd unit, which keeps eddie at his natural 2 position, and Marquis at his natural 3 position.............Iverson will not get distracted, he wont retract to old iverson, because he would be coming off the bench for the CELTICS, where it is already proven that an accumalation of stars sacrificed and won.....so iverson wont have to prove anything to anyone by coming to Boston......I'm all for it!

None of this is true becuase you don't understand Iverson.

How are you gonna tell me what i do and don't understand?????  No...I don't know Iverson thats true, but I do understand he wants to play basketball, and win a championship. And i know that he would play a lot better than Steph did. And i  know there aren't a plethora of teams looking for his services, and i understand that there aren't many teams Iverson is willing to come off the bench for, and i'd be hard pressed to believe the Celtics are one of those teams.
Plethora of teams interested in Iverson?

That might be the funniest thing I've read on CB in a long, long time!!

Last I checked he was looking at European offers because there was almost no one in the NBA that will sign him. Hence, he's still a free agent and we are having a discussion about bringing him in for the minimum.

Read it again, i said (AREN'T A PLETHORA OF TEAMS)!!!

Of course I'd do it, but no way he would come here for the vet min/LLE, because he thinks he's still worth $10M and doesn't even want to take the MLE in a backup role. But... if this drags out a little longer, he might be willing to back Rondo up for one year, but he could also sign in Europe for more money or just retire. But I would love this bench:

Sheed
Baby
Marquis
House
Iverson

That's almost like we can guarantee him a championship if he comes here. And at this stage of his career, he should be chasing rings before his window is closed for good.

Did you ask yourself why doesn't anybody in the league want him right now?
If all due respect, Charlotte(my 2nd fav team) doesn't want him, and they are in pursuit for the offseason, why would a championship team take him???

Danny really wanted Iverson 3-4 years ago, I wonder if he let that love go or if there's still something  ::)

Since I like the roster "as is", I'd have no problem bringing AI in.  Worst case scenario, we simply cut him, and still have a championship roster.

I can't imagine it would happen, but I wouldn't mind it if it did.

What he said...

I would take him in a second (and I would love Vick to back up Brady, too). Talk about insurance. I can't really think of an instance of a Boston team bringing in a 'crazy' person and having it not work out (Starbury was the worst result and it was still kind of a positive).

For a team like Charlotte, they would basically be selling their soul to bring him in, as they don't really have a true identity and Iverson would become the face of the franchise. In Boston, he would be an additional puzzle piece. Skillwise, he is worth a spot on any NBA roster (and some NFL rosters). It's obviously the attitude people are scared of and if he didn't fit in, we could cut him...
