I was wondering if Allen Iverson remained un-signed until the season started would you be upset if we brought him in for a training camp and see if he could mesh as our backup PG? Just striking up some convo for a boring monday afternoon. I think it would be interesting to see if he can finally accept to come off the bench. Well what do you think?

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I think it would be a great idea, if he said he wanted to win more than he wanted to start and "get his"

Impossible. The Celtics would only be able to offer the Vet. Min.

No need for that distraction.

Since we only have the vet. min. to offer, the distraction would be quite welcomed. No way he comes for that though.

somehow the celtics have dodged "headache" bullets with sam complaining about playing time he didn't deserve and the ultimate timebomb starbury being relatively normal in his time in green
iverson is pushing the envelope too far, great street ball player, very good nba player but he would not come here to back up rondo
who would you rather have as a starter? easy ? imo

He would definitely give our 2nd unit firepower while providing us a insurance policy for Ray Allen. Im not opposed to it as most are & I actually want to see it happen. He would still get 30 min a game 17mins. backing Ray & 13 for Rondo. Too bad he still wants money instead of a title, which would lead to more money.

We would have to change our offensive system with AI, because I don't see him adjusting.

No, no, a thousand times no.

One word: practice?

Here is the thing, AI would come in and say the right things.  He would practice.  He would try to fit in.

For about one to two weeks.  Then it would be back to All Iverson.

I'd like to see the over/under on that 2 weeks.   ;)

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Since I like the roster "as is", I'd have no problem bringing AI in.  Worst case scenario, we simply cut him, and still have a championship roster.

I can't imagine it would happen, but I wouldn't mind it if it did.

I'd be fine with bringing Iverson in. If he doesn't work out, the bench already has enough remaining talent to compete with a title. It's a no-lose situation.

If I were Danny + Doc, I probably wouldn't waste my time trying this though. But I definitely wouldn't be upset about it, not with the rest of the bench already in place.
