How Yankee fans don't understand that their team is evil, and thus they are as well.

How myopic, provincial, blindly loyal, paranoid, obsessed with pure hatred(for ALL things Yankees),self absorbed and Faustian Red Sox fans are. I'm not sure if true Sox fans would rather see their Sox win or the Yankees lose. Sick stuff!

Why don't you write a letter to your congressman, then, if you feel so strongly about this?

I was thinking about emailing a letter to Fox News.  The country is wasting billions of dollars on gas because of the way the traffic lights are run, no doubt about it.    If they can't figure it out themselves and I told them about it, they would probably not even listen to me.

I thought it was trillions? Maybe they would listen to you if you got more people involved--I agree a lone email won't do anything.

But what scientific evidence do you have that this "gas wastage" is so costly? I see how you came to your conclusion with basic reasoning, but how can you be sure there isn't a caveat, or a variable you're not aware of?

So, things that I don't understand and it bugs me:

-Dimensions 5 and above

-Dark Matter (I can't say I fully understand string theory, but if you want a better understanding you absolutely have to read "The Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene)

-Saying we can't expand social services now because it will cost too much, then having to pay much more about 10 years down the road for all the people who slip through the cracks because we couldn't care for them now (why not just suck it up now and save a ton more money later on?)

-Larry the Cable Guy (and why he is successful)

-Why people think Kobe is a top 15 player of all time

-Why people can't understand that teammates matter a lot to a team's success in basketball (a la the Duncan vs KG debates or the unstoppable kobe hype machine)

-Why my shots rim out and everyone else's rim in

-Why everything good for you tastes bad and everything bad for you tastes so darn good

-Tyranosaurus Rex (I mean really stop and think about what it would be like to encounter a 40 foot tall land dwelling reptilian carnivore? I mean how much muscle mass is there? It's ridiculous.)

-Today's computers (microprocessors, hard drives, how info is stored, how one actually makes a hard drive or a microprocessor...geez.)

-My cat's moods.

Its probably in the trillions.  I don't have any evidence as of now.  Why wouldn't the "gas wastage" be costly, gas prices are on the news all the time and it is an important part of the economy.  What would the variable be?

I'm not sure--but for every action there is a reaction, and extenuating circumstances born out of changing the traffic light system could easily cause bigger problems for the US in ways that you or I could never foresee.

Why do women park their shopping carts right in the middle of the aisle?

Why is when a car coming towards you without his lights on will not turn his lights on, even after you flash yours multiple times to let him know that his lights are off, until after he passes you?

Why the AMA is allowed to control the marketplace for doctors thereby pushing up the price of their service and making healthcare more affordable to people who are too sick to afford it.

I could have this wrong, but I think the AMA is now made up of only 20% of the doctors in America. I'd be much more inclined to think it's profit-driven HMOs and Private Insurance companies (i mean it's pretty clear by these corporations' corporate headquarters that not all the money they get from the system is being funneled back in) that are responsible for high costs of medicine. I'm pretty sure it's not the primary care docs who make an average of 120,000 per year and have an average med school loan of 150,000 to pay off that are ripping of americans. Just think of how many primary care doctors you could employ with one insurance CEO salary?

why the red sox orginization preaches plate discipline, working the count, getting on base out of their hitters, yet allows their pitchers to throw ball after ball after ball and put guys on first base.
"Maybe now you'll never slime a guy with a positron collider, huh?"

i would must rather see the yankees lose than the red sox win. i am a red sox fan, but there are things about them that bug me and i do not like. there is nothing redeemable about the yankees organization, just a clueless franchise that is allowed to throw gobs of money at players who have no desire to play for the team. if that is Faustian (whatever that is) do be it.

I am sure that some corporate executives compensation are way out of line too but there are far fewer CEO's of companies then there are doctors and if the AMA did not limit the market there would be even more doctors. There would still be only the same nuber of CEO's. It's a little more difficult to become a CEO of a company then to become a doctor, and that market isnt controlled. I am not saying that the cost of healcare isnt adversely affected by corporations too as I am quite certain it is.

Traffic lights all messed up > wasting gas > complain to your congressman or fox news > gas co's ceo's and fox news ceo's hang out every friday night with $400 scotch bottles and cubans > they turn it into a 55/45 light instead of 60/40 and make even more $

Why do I stress out over such small issues when I am a tiny speck in the universe?

Why would bin Laden want to blow up the towers if it just meant he would have to hide in caves for the rest of his life? Why did WTC 7 get barely any coverage and most people don't even know it was pulverized and was a block down the street?

Why will people stomp on ants on their way to feeding their dog filet mignon?

If all the bible belt people were born in China would they be Buddhists?

How radio, television, and satellite waves work. It makes absolutely no sense that those things can be broken down, travel through the air at the speed that they do, and reassembled into useable information... and how someone even came up with that thought in the first place!
