We are assuming Tony Allen won't be on the roster but who will take Tony straight up in deal after coming off his latest surgery? I don think it will happen right now with the Pacers unless if we include Walker and/or Giddens however their roster is close to being full. I don't think Bird will take just Tony in a straight sign and trade deal for Daniels. So if we sign Daniels for the LLE it leaves 2 roster (assuming BBD is back) spots and I don't see us signing Bowen then. However if we do this say as a sign and trade with Allen and or Walker/Giddens then I would see us pursuing Bowen at that time but I just have a hunch we are going to sign Daniels with the LLE.
So with these 2 roster spots I see a vet min PG fighting it out with Hudson for one of the roster spots. Then I wouldn't be surprised if the other roster spot is for another big like Swift although I would be pulling for Powe.
Our depth would look like
C Perk, Wallace, Swift or someone else
PF KG, BBD, Scal
SF PP, Daniels, Walker
SG R Allen, T Allen, Giddens
PG Rondo, House, vet or Hudson
What's nice is several of these backups can play more than 1 position so it provides great flexibility.
Then we hold onto our expiring contract for later on Allen and Scal for a midseason trade (Battier, Nocioni or whoever else).
I think finding a traditional PG is less important having Daniels on the team. It is an imperfect situation because it can be a defensive nightmare if you have a smallish PG with House in the game at the same time.
