The Golden State Warriors have agreed to trade Marco Belinelli to Toronto for Devean George, league sources tell Y! Sports.

I'm sure we could've provided something better than George. Horrible trade by GS.

Edit: There has to be some cash/picks involved for this to make some sense to me.

Don't understand this trade whatsoever but Nellie is strange in the way he handles players sometimes. I do think Belinelli is a horrible defender and rebounder though that just doesn't have a lot of athleticism. He reminds me of J J Reddick without the basketball smarts and grittiness.

I don't know if you have really seen enough of Belinelli play.  He is actually very athletic, and an incredibly smart player.  Not sure about the grittiness though.

Being a good rebounder is not really important for a SG, though if not mistaken Nellie likes his guards to crash the boards since he plays small. But regardless, Belinelli is a bigger trading chip and George doesn't provide any financial flexibility since Belinelli has a team option next year.

Really don't understand it, regardless of how much GS dislikes him.

Here's the story:

Oh, and I forgot to say, George sucks.

Edit:

So basically, Toronto signed and traded Marion with Jawai and Humphries for Antoine Wright, Hedu, and Belinelli. Then used their Mid-Level for Jarret Jack.

They've done some good moves this summer, also acquiring Evans which will make them tougher (something they really needed).

Either A) Salary cap clearing move (but I haven't even tried to look at the #'s..I think Bellineli is expiring, right? So that doesn't make sense...

B) The Warriors gave up.

A) No cap relief.

B) Even if they did, it still doesn't make sense because George sucks and has a lower trade value.

You know who I really like for them is Ime Udoka. I like him for us too (not the point, I just think he's a player), but he's the vet that can help tie that together, and he's still only 31.

So he is expiring..I thought so. I think maybe its not a testament to a head scratcher..I think its a testament to GSW needing help at the 3/4 and thinking how much the marco experiment failed. Don Nelson either likes you or he doesn't, and George is one of his guys from Dallas days, right?

Nope, he wasn't there with Nelson.

They have plenty of SFs though. A 3/4 type? Maybe, but George?

Actually I've seen alot of Belinelli last year as my son is a huge GSW fanatic(I have no idea why). While I think he isn't a dumb basketball player, I just don't think he's exceptionally smart player.

Put JJ Reddick's basketball mind and drive in Gerald green and Green is an All-Star. I just think Reddick really knows his basketball but just doesn't have the speed, first step, or overall athleticism to be real good.

And as for his athleticism, I will have to agree to disagree. He's slower than average for a SG and weaker than average for a SG and doesn't have the toughness or physicality or hops to be good at anything but shooting the ball.

And his defense is atrocious.

All that said, he's still way better than George as an NBA sset right now and the trade makes no sense to me.

He's deceptively athletic. Hell, I've seen some youtube clips where he does a 360 dunk in the middle of a game.

horrible trade by don. What the heck was he thinking? Marco is a solid player with a chance to start in Toronto. Don Nelson lost his mind.

yeah, where was Danny on this one. Belinelli would have been a great fit here. seems like we have been too tied up with this Daniels saga. that situation really needs to come to an end...

I think we're gonna be saying that a lot over the next week or two. No question this is hamstringing us from making further moves.

Well it's not like anyone that's any good that we would be interested in in a position we have a need in has signed with anyone or been traded anywhere else. Belinelli is okay but honestly, you want him hindering Giddens development or taking time from Eddie?
