I'm p---ed. Toronto got a starter for a bag ramen noodles. I'm mean what the heck is Ainge doing? Couldn't we get him for a bag of chips.

I don't think either team has cap room, so no, not according to my understanding of the CBA.

The Golden State Warriors have agreed to trade Marco Belinelli to Toronto for Devean George, league sources tell Y! Sports.

I'm sure we could've provided something better than George. Horrible trade by GS.

Edit: There has to be some cash/picks involved for this to make some sense to me.

yeah, where was Danny on this one. Belinelli would have been a great fit here. seems like we have been too tied up with this Daniels saga. that situation really needs to come to an end...

I think we're gonna be saying that a lot over the next week or two. No question this is hamstringing us from making further moves.
Well it's not like anyone that's any good that we would be interested in in a position we have a need in has signed with anyone or been traded anywhere else. Belinelli is okay but honestly, you want him hindering Giddens development or taking time from Eddie?

well I would trade Belinelli straight up for Giddens. and I still look at Eddie as the backup PG.

i think you can play Belinelli just like you would Daniels. play him at SG but let him handle the ball.

a bench of:

Eddie
Belinelli
Baby
Sheed

that's pretty solid and versatile in my book...

Marco Belinelli has barely any value around the league, but dumping him for Devean George is still a bad move by GSW. I would not be happy if we acquired Belinelli.

Just watch, he'll flourish in Toronto. Marco does it all. He can dribble, shoot, attack, and pass. I can understand why Warriors traded him, but at least get something more. Toronto fans are ecstatic.

why would you not be happy? he's athletic, he's got a nice handle and a solid stroke. I think he would great coming off the bench in our offense. he could just run all the patterns that Ray runs and get great looks in our motion offense.

If Marco could dribble, shoot, attack, and pass at an average to slightly below average for the NBA, the warriors wouldn't have traded him.

I'm pretty sure all teams have bags of chips. Only one can land a player. Considering that they traded for an inferior player with less trade value, one has to think that this was solely to get a 3/4 player... which we don't have.

Scal, easily.

Scal can't be traded for Belinelli straight up though.

Using the tri-annual Haley's Comet exception wasn't an option here?

Eh, he's a one trick pony. The only positive in his game is catch-and-shoots. He is very good at that, but his defense is just horrible, he never gets to the line, can't shoot off of the screen (3/17 last year), doesn't rebound, not a distributor, etc.

You're right, Scal should never be given away straight up for Belinelli. Scal's worth a lot more than that.

Belinelli couldn't succeed in a style that is most like his European style that plays to his strengths. Yet people think he'll succeed elsewhere? If he can't take that Euro style game and make okay things happen in GSW, he's not going to do it anywhere else.

But that is just one man's opinion.

Really, Tornto should just trade Bosh and build the Italian Team they want to build around Bargs. Bosh and Bargs will each be much better players when they're not playing alongside another face up 7 footer.
