  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Scal, easily.

Scal can't be traded for Belinelli straight up though.
You're right, Scal should never be given away straight up for Belinelli. Scal's worth a lot more than that.

Belinelli couldn't succeed in a style that is most like his European style that plays to his strengths. Yet people think he'll succeed elsewhere? If he can't take that Euro style game and make okay things happen in GSW, he's not going to do it anywhere else.

But that is just one man's opinion.

While I agree with you, to play devil's advocate..

You've gotta factor in the irrational Nellie Player Evaluation System. The prerequisites include being over 28 years old and stuck between positions.

So true.

Which really makes one wonder how he got the rep as such a great coach. It must have been the Marques Johnsons, Junior Bridgemans, Sidney Moncriefs, Paul Presseys, Terry Cummings, Jack Sikmas and Craig Hodges of the world that were just great players that made him look good and not his coaching that won all those games in the 80's in Milwaukee.

I think the league grew past Nelson's teachings and philosophies back in the 90's. It's to bad too because I met him once and he seems like such a decent human being.

I think Nellie should retire.

He's become the coach that is impossible to please it seems.

Just about everyone is in his dog house now a days.

Well, I am trying to come up with someone that has been in his doghouse that is actually good. Players that were in his doghouse were POB, Marcus Williams, Jamal Crawford...I don't know about who brings in the "talent" there, but they are not so hot.

Does this mean Delfino isn't going back to Toronto?  He and Marco seem to be a bit redundant.

As can be read, I'm not a belinelli fan but this is really a good trade for Toronto because George is done.

There are others.  Al Harrington.  Brandan Wright.  Anthony Randolph.  Biedrins, for a long time.

Colangelo just couldn't take having two Americans on the team for so long as a month.

Nelson pushed for this one so when they face the Mavs he can ask his boy George to hard foul Cuban into the 16th row -- a double bird flip to his former boss.

It is unclear what is going on with the GSW, but the change in general managers coupled with a bunch of poor long term contracts is no doubt playing a big role.

More to the point, the fact that teams like GSW (Belinelli), Memphis (Warrick) and Milwaukee (Villanueva) are practically giving their young guys away for free or for expiring contracts should point to something bigger:  namely, the economy is really running havoc on some teams' finances.  This could be an opportunity for teams like the Cs which have expiring contracts (and, presumably, the financial wherewithall to withstand the economic troubles).

I would like to know what the season ticket renewal numbers are like for teams. I heard Memphis was down big time as was Charlotte.

Charlotte is another good example (Okafor for Chandler).

yeah, where was Danny on this one. Belinelli would have been a great fit here. seems like we have been too tied up with this Daniels saga. that situation really needs to come to an end...

just because there are trades doesn't mean that we should have been there
