Yeah, but I wasn't talking about defending yourselves. I wouldn't  respect you if you didn't defend your team.

But.....if there wasn't so so so so so much hype/teasing/having fun my guess is you would not have to be defending yourselves so much.

True, I agree.  However, I don't mind defending our team.  As I said, the hype is all in jest.  The scrolling text, etc., has become a draft tradition.

In the end, we don't get defensive about our team.  We know its potential weaknesses, and we don't hide from them.  However, we're also not going to downplay our strengths, either.

LOL that tradition gives me migraines. For real. After about an hour of seeing those things I can start to feel them coming on so I go hang in chat and briefly poke in on the thread.

But if you don't mind defending your team, have fun. It is a game after all.

I think GC and Lucky could have surrounded LeBron with the Marist University girls basketball team and people would still vote for Orlando as the best team in their division because of the near God-like way LeBron is perceived by basketball fans.

The Magics GM's are going to kill me, but I think you have them beat at SG and PF and are about a draw at PG. Your center has better numbers than Marc Gasol I believe, so it depends how much better Marc G gets. Obviously they have the advantage at SF, but you have no slouch there and a guy i think that would cause problems for Lebron. Wallace is big and athletic. I like your team.

TP, thanks jr. I also have no slouch coming off the bench to guard Lebron when the refs put Wallace on the bench for breathing heavy on LeBron. LeBron will get no rest because I'll have Outlaw on him and if I have to I'll move Jackson over on him too.

I've been really impressed how you've been able to make two trades that took your team from a future-oriented team, to one that is a legit contender for its division title.  On each trade, their was some criticism that you "lost" the trades, but in each instance, I think you brought pieces to your team that specifically help you match up better with Orlando.

I'm still not done either. I'm hoping to get some frontcourt help using Carter but I don't know if people realize what a great back up PG he is and really haven't shown interest.

But I have two more days so maybe I can still improve before posting the team I want to take to war here for people to let me know how I've done.

Yeah, but rule of thumb is usually whoever gets the most talented player wins and in both cases I did send out the most talented player. So I can see where people would say I lost each trade.

But, by losing both trades I think my team won by becoming better. Go figure.

Sometimes you have to give up the best player. I traded Big Al, becuase i had three first rounders and then no pick until round 7. IP made a great trade, but when it was all said and done I turned Big Al into a great center for my team Horford a dynamic scorer Kevin Martin and a great veteran wing in Raja Bell.

IMO Kevin Martin, Al Horford and Raja Bell together helps my team way more than Big Al.

As an aside I think since you and Edgar hype your team so much people are going to get sick of reading all the self love and do anything they can to attack your team. If the general CB public is going to be voting for team of the year, would your hype be better served in a thread on it's own that people will read or one post per thread that is off topic doing nothing but advertising for votes for your great team?

I mean the hype was funny and fun the first 150 pages or so but having to go through 3-4 Portland CrotoNats lovefest posts per page in the draft thread is getting a bit much and I doubt I'm the only one that feels this way.

The "hype" is all in jest, and comes mostly from my co-GM.  I think it's generally teasing.

However, when I defend our team, I think that's absolutely acceptable.  I like what we've put together.  I think it's a strong contender in the West, and in the NBA overall.  When people challenge the team, of course I'm going to defend it.

You mean you search out other teams to attack and then when they point out your team's glaring flaws, you defend it.

Portland is definitely the hype capitol and the league's instigators. Used to be Toronto, but he realized he was turning everyone off.

If somehow you get a sg for side show bob, wouldn't your bench be pretty D league? And considering Chris Paul is much greater than Miller, Raja will be greater than the sg you get, Kevin Martin is greater than Artest, and gasol is greater than camby, you shouldat least have a decent bench. I will say that if healthy, KG is better than Horford. Then again, you only have KG, b/c you picked him for me and then renegged on the trade. I think you were going with Gilbert initially.

Ilgauskas and Varejao, two starters for an ECF team and Watson is a decent to really good three guys to come off the bench and if he gets a starting SF for AV then miller comes off the bench instead, which still isn't bad.

Though I agree that the rest of Rondo's bench leaves something to be desired.

Miller's his pg. Afflalo would be on the bench. Watson is ok and he needs a back up pg more than me. I'm fine with Williams, Arroyo and Vaughn. Big Z actually wouldn't fit with our running game. Anderson and Armstrong fit better. The only guy I like on Toronto's bench is Varejao.
