This was a sign and trade correct?  If so, have they announced who we had to give up?  Cause I've been waiting for this info for awhile now and I still haven't heard.

There's a report out of Indiana (link http://www.indystar.com/article/20090723/SPORTS04/90723068/Tinsley+will+be+cap+hit+for+next+2+seasons) that the Pacers want TA and Giddens. I say do it - there's only room for one of Walker and Giddens and one of them probably has to go...and I'll be happy to see TA go.

Interesting that Danny apparently wants to use Walker, and the Pacers want Giddens. If the rerports are true.

At first I wasn't liking the S&T but, if it only takes TA and Giddens I'm definitely liking it better than I was before.

Fan of Walker? Pruitt?

I think it's in our best interest to keep Giddens.

I give the edge to Walker over Giddens too, but JR was Danny's 1st round pick so maybe he's not giving up on that move yet.  I see the Walker-Giddens comparison like the Powe-Baby comparison last year.  One guy is more ready to contibute now (Powe, Walker) while the other guy has more long term upside (Baby, Giddens).

The problem is that I think Giddens is the one the is ready to contribute now, and Walker is the one that may have a bit of more upside.

For S&T, Giddens makes slightly more money, plays SG, Walker SF. Likely Ainge wants to keep Giddens for SG and use Daniels for SG/SF swingman. Also, could be that Danny's going to want to sign Swift for more money than veterans minimum and might want to sign Tim Thomas (vet minimum). Last year, Lue wouldn't take the veteran minimum so he likely won't again this time and neither will Starbury. So, guess is that Danny's trying to move positional players and shape the roster.

Who knows if Baby will be coming back or someone else in a S&T. S&T may yield a SF or PG, leaving Danny with no home for Walker. My guess is Danny's trying to work out a S&T to get Swift and that may take multiple teams. Remember that one trade a few years back when 5 teams completed a S&T with Walker going to Miami?

If Danny's offering anything tangible for the stiff that is Bob Swift, he's insane.

Sign me up for this deal. Get rid of Tony. Giddens is replaceable. Raw athletic wings who can't shoot are a dime a dozen in each draft.

For the next 2 years I am really only concerned with the talent in the top 10. Everyone else is insurance / trade fodder / a project.

Right now Swift is a minimum wage 15th man project. The LLE could be better spent.

Really don't have any interest in Swift, after seeing his dismal, lead-footed performance in the summer league.

But if Ainge lands Daniels, then I suppose he deserves one of his 7-foot binkies at the end of the bench.
