DAM!
What is up with Orlando making great moves to support Superman?

Lets look at it.
Magic, Celtics, Cavs

Magic got Vince Carter, Ryan Anderson, Matt Barnes, & Bass? DAM!
Cavs got Shaq, Moon and had the best overall record.
And, Anthony Parker, resign Varejao.

Celtics got Sheed, Daniels.
The Celtics have the better quality in the top 7 players, but I think Orlando's bench could be a .500% winning team.

All-Star game will have 3 players from each team or more.

I feel bad for the Eastern conference.
DAM!

You think Anthony Johnson, JJ Redick, Matt Barnes, Brandon Bass, and Marcin Gortat could be a .500 team?  Wow.

I think you are underestimating the loss of Hedo...a lot.

Hedo for Carter/Bass?
I would take Carter/Bass thank you.

I don't underestimate the loss of Hedo.
He was good/ not great.

Carter is old, but may play harder now he is on a team that went to the finals.
Bass has nothing but upside to his game.

I don't think Barnes is a big deal, not compared to their other moves.

Lets look at their team now.
Anderson, Bass, Carter, Gortat, Howard, Johnson, Lewis, Barnes, Nelson, Pietrus, Redick.
Thats 9 dam good players...with Redick and Johnson playing their roles.

9 not 7 like the Celtics.
I hope DA has another plan for a PG and a SF/C.
If KG, Sheed, or Perk gets hurt, then the Celtics are screwed.
Especially not knowing about BBD yet.

So you are saying all 9 of those guys outclass House? I can't agree with that. Or are you not including Daniels?

Celts starting 5 and Sheed/Daniels.
Eddie is great, but one dimensional with the 3. Spot and shoot.
No assists, layups, but probably the best 3pt shooter in the league. Luv him for that.
Suspect on D too.

The issue for Orlando is that the team is going to have to play significantly differently on both offense and defense.  The starting lineup looks like it will be...

Nelson
VC
Lewis
Bass
Howard

Lewis is still a matchup problem, but less so with two bigs able to come over and help when he posts up smaller 3s.  Bass is also going to clog up the middle for Nelson, VC and even Howard trying to separate from his man for a dunk.

Defensively, they don't have the length or versatility they had with Hedo.

I don't think so.
I think VC will take over the perimeter game and has a better drive to the hoop than Hedo. Bass will pick up the slack inside if double teams come. Bass can score.

Magic can spread it out just as much as before.

Magic bench:
Pietrus AKA Posey
Gortat
Anderson
Barnes
Redick/Johnson

The bench is better than the Bucks/Nets
I meant .500% just in the East, but not seriously.

My point is that the Magic, Cavs and Celtics are STACKED.
I give the edge now to the Magic.
The Celtics are getting older, and will have to play more minutes with the starting 5 + Sheed/Daniels.

Answer this:
Who the heck is the backup PG?
(Don't say Eddie house or Marbury)
If Rondo falls to the floor like in every game, but doesn't get up - who will take his place?

Also, we saw what happened with KG going down. If one of the 3 bigs, (KG, Perk, Sheed) get hurt, who the heck will play the 4/5 spot?
(Don't say BBD or Leon)

I think in '08, the Celtics had a great bench. Very underestimated with Leon, BBD.
These guys were nobodys, but now are somebodys after the Celts won the Finals.

Ah, so we're going after quantity over quality.
