I wonder if people really take a second to think before posting some "celticsblog twitter" rumour... The origin of this post is ridiculous.

It's a slow newsday. I said it wasn't realistic, but this may be something better to discuss than another 15 pages of Tony Allen bashing.

I hope this is  more than a rumor! He is baller. I don't like his attitude, he 's a thug.Dude can score and it woulld be nice to have a player like him.

TJ Ford is a thug? Now that's hilarious.

He's not? Perhaps you should give this a read: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/print?id=1762342&type=story

That doesn't make him a thug, that means he was stupid as a rookie. For all we know he could have had a jerk of a friend who brought the crack pipe in. Hardly [dang]ing.

I agree. When you hang around people who own crack pipes, that just means you're the victim. Good call.

Did I say "victim"? All I said was being stupid doesn't mean you're a thug. That being said, if he was a thug, the police stating that Ford was never under suspicion doesn't do much for his rep. ;)

Agree, couldn't have said it better.

Maybe they want the LLE to sign Rodney Carney or some other SF.

Why are you guys believing this? This is not happening for a variety of reasons, with the most important that there aren't any minutes left behind Rondo.

Not to mention there must be some reason that the Pacers are looking to dump him after one season.

I still hope the trade falls through and Daniel just signs for the LLE.  To many good things come from there.

1) the trade pieces are still in Boston hands to add a PG

2) ends speculation of Marbury returning for the LLE.

Let me clear that up for you:

1) The biggest need is a backup wing, then a big, and the least need is for a backup PG. So basically in that order you would give out the money, with the backup wing getting the most.

1b) This will only happen if we do the sign-and-trade, because you certainly don't want to acquire a backup PG for Scal's and Tony's salary ($6M) just to play 10 minutes behind Rondo.

2) We not only shed salary/don't take on more, we also get rid of redundant players like Tony and Pruitt.

3) We have the LLE to spend on a 4th (!) big/backup PG.

If you can get Daniels with the lle, why waste the trade chips?  Especially when there are no PGs worth the lle, and a ton of big men worth the min.

Because Daniels can get more than that after his best season statistically? If he would agree to the LLE, when he's worth the double, he will sign for one year, and what's the point of having this debate next year again? Lock him up for 3 years for a total of $10M by doing this sign-and-trade. Listen, I don't want to hurt your feelings, but it has been reported that both teams are interested in the sign-and-trade deal.

No, because Daniels is our backup 2/3, so it will go either to a big or a PG.

I'll be happy just getting Daniels, we don't need TJ Ford as a backup PG, i'd rather have a hard nosed battle tested veteran whose played in big playoff games...

I think Tyronn Lue at the minimum is more value per dollar than Ford getting paid 8mil for 12min a game.

if this happens, something or somethings bigger will follow

perhaps the rondo and allen to phoenix for stoudemire and barbosa is still on

maybe perk and filler is still going to memphis for gay and thabeet and memphis continues in its quest to pick up iverson

Yeah - I agree it makes your head hurt but you know Danny - he wants to win now and prepare for the future.

Then I think with a shot at starting, marbury comes back for the LLE.

Marbury  and TJ Ford
Gay and House and Barbosa
Pierce and Daniels
KG and Stoudemire
Wallace and BBD and Thabeet

So we build for the future with pieces like Thabeet, Stoudemire and Gay

I think this would be a pretty sick line-up

will it happen - probably not - but Danny is up to something - he has been too quiet

I hope it's not true. Because if it is, I doubt it's for a backup role, and I don't want to see Rondo get shipped out after we thought we finally got over Ainge blowing his attitude issues out of proportion.

This doesn't make sense because if Ford comes to bosotn he would have to back up Rondo. (Rondo> Ford).

Like an above poster said, Ford caused problems when he had to share minutes with Calderon...so Toronto just got rid of him. he wouldn't be a good fit here either.

I think the whole TJ causing problems in Toronto is overblown.  I think Toronto got rid of him for money reasons not that he was a "cancer" in the locker room.

All of the TJ interviews that I have heard he has said the right things.  I am sure he wanted more min and rather be a starter, but he seems like a guy that can accept what ever role he is cast.

That being said, I don't know why he would want to play somewhere that he will not have an opportunity to become the starter.

Why would the Pacers give him away for nothing? He´s a good player when healthy, and his contract is expiring, IIRC. If there are really other players involved, it´s probably someone like Tinsley or Foster.

Player option that I'm pretty sure he would pick up.

Only way TJ Ford is involved is if Rajon Rondo is going to Indianapolis.  Indiana isn't going to give him away for free, but this guy isn't worth what we would have to trade to get him.

Which wouldn't let the salaries match.

It´s a sign-and-trade, so Daniels salary still has to be negotiated, and I`d think it´s just a matter of finding the right combination of contracts.

Thanks, that makes sense.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

But he already agreed to the LLE.  The are looking at the sign and trade as a way to see if they can get him more money while helping the team out.

If the sign and trade fall through, he just signs for two years.
