I'll wait for a better source.

and we'll be holding our breath for your input.

hehe... if you don't have anything to say, why say (post) anything?

by the way, TP, for scouring the depths of other teams rumors.

i think the only person who can make this happen is Moon. a s&t is not going to happen -- Miami doesn't want to add payroll. and the Heat will still likely match an LLE offer, despite their desire to stay out of the lux tax and keep flexibility for 2010. so Moon is going to have to work for it with the Heat if he expects to get away to the Celtics.

Clearly I did have something to say. Hence the collection of letters put together to make words, which were put together to form a sentence.

Might this mean that a) they don't want to take on 1.9mil for Moon, and b) they don't want to pay him for a 2-year contract considering their plans for next summer?

Yes and yes. TP.

Moon is a restricted FA, correct?

If so, I'm sure MIA would match an offer of our LLE. Perhaps this is one of the sign-and-trade options Ainge is rumored to be contemplating.

We could do a sign and trade with our expirings because Miami could be looking to sign another max contract free agent to go alongside D-Wade.

But unless we give them something they really want, it doesn't make a ton of sense for them to do a sign and trade, because they would just be taking on extra salary (and paying extra luxury tax) this year, when they could just let him walk.

So a sign and trade only works if the Heat actually want something the C's have to offer.

Tony & Pruitt, maybe? Both expirings.

Yeah, an S+T still puts them over the threshold without a buyout.  Why would they take someone like TA if their options are A. Keep TA and go into luxury tax territory (though they'll get him off the books next year) or B. Buy TA out and spend the buyout money on essentially nothing.  Only an S+T for a pick or cash makes sense, and I think they have to take salary back in such a scenario due to their payroll (someone more knowledgeable can correct me though).

I think that a 2- or 3-year LLE would call Miami's bluff - I think they let him go rather than go over the threshold this year and hurt their cap space in '10 with a glut of small forwards already on their roster.

That's correct, but who knows if Danny is even interested? Should be, but I'm just saying...

i would hope danny would be interested in getting a 6'7 win that can defend, shoot the 3 and jump out of the gym...and if anything we could rid ourselves of some deadweight in #13, #4, #12, # 42

I hope we can find someway to bring this guy on board

He has bounced around the league, and finally turned into a serviceable pro

Maybe adding a chapionsip to his resume wouldn't be the wrost thing going foreward

I can' all this speculation(or lack there of) anymore

please fill out this roster so we can start to play aound with starting lineups, argue over minutes, etc.  The stuff we should be doing now

LLE contracts are limited to two years, right?

Just throwing something out: It's just a New Jersey paper with their speculation. But maybe they really "hear" this, and I hope it's true and that we can get him. The wait is just killing me!

I'm sure Moon would like to go to a higher profile team where he'll get more time than he probably feels he'd get with the Heat.

I just don't see it happening, Moon's nothing special but he's worth matching an LLE offer.

We've heard from Murph that Moon is high on their radar, and we've now heard from D'Alessandro that Moon's interested in Boston. So i think it's a good beat there have been some talks.
