a quick note on a tidbit i pulled out of the Nj Star Ledger via Hoopshype:

http://www.nj.com/nets/index.ssf/2009/07/nj_nets_incentives.html

"Moon, we hear, wants to be in Boston."

Go Danny go. Pat Riley is one of the few guys I could actually see wanting TA. He also could be interested in Scal considering their lack of size.

Moon is a restricted FA, correct?

If so, I'm sure MIA would match an offer of our LLE. Perhaps this is one of the sign-and-trade options Ainge is rumored to be contemplating.

it would have to be a sign and trade...i prefer it involve scal, tony, giddens or walker and then scal coming back to boston after being bought out

We could do a sign and trade with our expirings because Miami could be looking to sign another max contract free agent to go alongside D-Wade.

Yep, matching the LLE would be a given. We'd have to find something Pat wants. Perhaps we could help with a Boozer deal somehow? Doubtful.

Speaking of which -- Roy / someone -- can sign & trades be 3 team deals?

i think pat wants cap space...he has some heavy contracts with o neal, wade and maybe boozer coming in..i think you trade tony and scal...they buyout scal and keep tony...we resign scal and we have another utility big with a legit wing..that would leave getting the baby issue resolved...you either resign him filling in a huge need at PF or maybe even sign and trade him also

But unless we give them something they really want, it doesn't make a ton of sense for them to do a sign and trade, because they would just be taking on extra salary (and paying extra luxury tax) this year, when they could just let him walk.

So a sign and trade only works if the Heat actually want something the C's have to offer.

He's got tons of cap space all for next. They have nobody on their cap beyond Wade and some rookie deals.

Wow, I didn't expect Moon to be interested in Boston! Hopefully Danny is working on a sign and trade which allows the C's to keep Big Baby and to sign Moon.

Edit : and TP for the great find!

it's worth noting that the heat are trying to stay competitive while opening up space for NEXT offseason to sign Wade and Bosh, or whoever else. So a rental on Scal might actually interest Riley. He can back-up Beasley at the 3, play D, shoot a little, and come off the books at the end of the year.
