but i think what the pistons offer (if they offer) will be very matchable by the celtics....don't see baby getting a full MLE or even 4 mil a year...3 mil or lower i would match it

Who has Big Baby pictures from a webcam out there besides his gf and himself? That's what makes me lean towards it being him. Haha, can't believe I'm analyzing twitter this much. Fail.

2.8 million for BBD would be fine.

I'd heard they had more than that much cap space, around 3 million after the Charlie V/Gordon signings. That could put their offer at 4 million a year.

not when we're paying sheed 5.8, and still need a better wing and point backup

This waiting game is killing me. I have the feeling Danny wants to wait out the baby situation first, while all the other guards are slipping, and we all know RFA waiting games can turn into disasters.

the thing that worries me is: what if Danny waits and only signs scubs on the wing?

i don't think they are related...if they are then boston def. will be looking for a wing in the spare parts junk pile late this summer because baby hasn't even been offered a deal from anyone yet..and from there danny has 7 days to match..that process is going to take a while..or the will have to accept walker/giddens/tony/the hot dog vendor/the ticket taker will back up PP

my worry also because we already have scrubs backing up on the wing...we don't need more "projects" or guys who need game time to prove themselves only not to be the answer. we need a PROVEN wing from the get go

Well, at this point, there really aren't many wings left who are not scrubs.  They are already near the bottom of the barrel, and at the point where everyone remaining is an eye of the beholder type.

Other than Josh Childress, and maybe Matt Barnes (who might only play well in an uptempo system), there are only scrubs left...

A trade for a wing might be a better route.

Can we do a sign and trade if he signs an offer sheet? With the BYC rules, it seems viable if we can include Scalabrine AND Allen in the deal.

No, once he signs an offer sheet, our only options are to match it (in which case, I believe he cannot be traded for 1 year), or let him go.

Whether or not those comments are really Baby's makes little difference to me. I, myself, just don't think he wants to play in the Celtic Green. The signing of Rasheed was probably a perceived smack in the face. Baby thinks he's better than being a fourth big man, especially monetarily. So I'm not going to miss the guy. Let him go where he can start and earn x amount of dollars. It's what he wants, and it is what he should want.
