Can rookies actually help?  http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/rookies/rankings

Not an ESPN insider, but got to look at the first 20 and they all looked like they played. The idea that all rookies not picked in the top 5 go to the NBADL is a fallacy.

I think the difference is that two of the rookies you're looking to move are described by experts as being a long way from NBA ready.  Budinger is probably furthest along, but he was a mid-second rounder who has limited potential.

It's the same thing with our rookies and young players:  Taj Gibson and Alexis Ajinca are a long way away from contributing to an NBA roster, in all likelihood.

The reports I'm getting is that JJ, Daye, and Budinger all looked good this Summer. Not sure about your less ballyhooed guys. Buddinger and Blair will both get a lot of PT. Wasn't Moute a 2nd rounder? Gasol? Manu? Redd?

This isn't the analysis thread. Just posting an ad like others do.

How many rookies looked good in summer league never to step on the NBA court when it matters?

Kedrick Brown looked great in summer league.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
He's the number one on Espn's Depth charts, its Belinelli then Derozan.  I dont think it will be a mistake, Hes got Chemistry with Bargnani already because they both played on the national team together.  Also we know that the kid can spread the floor I see him flourishing like Kapono did up there.

I know he's #1 on the depth charts but what is Toronto thinking? They're gonna get RUN OVER on defense. WHo is gonna stop like...anyone? Turkoglu? No. Bellinelli? No. Bargnani? No.

I think its much more likely that they end up starting Antoine Wright, a guy who started 53 games for the Mavs last year. He's not the best outside shooter but between JC, HT, and AB, they've got shooters in the starting 5.

Denver has waived Anthony Tolliver from the 15 man roster.

The Nuggets wish him success on all future endeavors.

Many I'd guess. But if you don't look good in SL, that can't be a good sign. Again I wasn't asking for opinions. Just posting an ad as others do. Toronto and Portland have made their opinions known repeatedly. It's cool. I wasn't putting up the ad for them.

What they *should* do, is continue to pursue Carlos Delfino and start him.  He's a much better defender than any guard / swingman on their roster.

Lopez and Rose didn't look good in Summer league and both were among the top 5 rookies last year.

Oh sweet. So my guys will be better than Lopez and Rose. Nice. :)

You think? I think at the SG, where the need is, Wright is better suited than Delfino. You think Bellinili coming on means Delfino is an non-option?

I'd take Delfino over Wright.  He's at least as good as Wright as a defender, and is a better offensive player.  The problem is, Delfino wants more money.

As of right now, word out of Toronto is that Delfino is still a possibility, but an unlikely one.

If it wasn't, my first post after the draft ended would have been:
