So, is Denver clearly in the lead for "team of the future"? I've got to think so.
We at the las vegas war room like to think we are somewhere in the discussion, with our team based defense and trade able assets, but we concede that WDL is in the lead talent wise, for sure.
You have talent, but Beasley at C? I think his future might be as a big SF in this league.
mabey, but we don't expect to win this year.
We have time and trade assets to fix the C issue and get beasly to PF down the road, where he belongs.
I agree that we have time to fix these teams down the road. I only mention it because don't you think it would be wise to move Beasley now to protect that investment. Undersized guys playing a position with a lot of big bangers can shorten their careers or at least, just take away their legs over a long time.
(See A. Walker as an example)
mabey i misunderstand how the title of "team of the future" is competed for, with regards to write ups? being totally serious there.
To me, that also includes teams that can put themselves, with a good write up of their philosophy of course, in the discussion for being a good team down the road, not just for the upcoming season. i believe, with the players i have drawing trade interest from other GM's who are looking to win now, that i can do that.
when i am speaking of "down the road" on the center problem i don't mean in only in this draft and post draft trade period, i mean in a fictional 2-3 years in our post draft world.
Beasley is not untouchable, as i plan to be a facilitator during our post draft trade phase, but he would take alot to pry away from me, my write up will be based on how, over a 2-3 year period, we will go from a decent young team into the west to a playoff threat.
I agree that drafting a great young team, which you are currently in the process of, is also certainly one heck of a way to compete for that title, but i don't think it's the only way.
