I hope that anyone worried about a clogged lane w/ Okafor + Gasol will also concede that each is by far the best big the other has played with and will as such make each better rebounders + defenders since they won't have to do it all. ;)

I'm not sure it will make both of them better rebounders.  I would expect each of their stats to go down in that regard.

Defenders, maybe, although I think they'll struggle against quicker teams.

Yeah, an opposing coach runs this team to death. Also, since when Has Marc become a legit NBA force? He's still just a solid prospect in my eyes. I'm not a fan of this pick.

I'd actually like to see more of Lebron at the 4. He played power forward during the Olympics, with success, and his numbers playing at that position for the '08-'09 season are encouraging.

But does Lebron want to?

And is it the best thing for the long term of the franchise.  His legs will last longer against SF then banging with PFs.

Yeah, in spurts, we might consider LeBron at PF, but I'd prefer to have him just overpower SFs, and leave the banging to Meka and Marc.

Rumor is James is more than willing, as long as his agent can get an assurance from the league office, that they would at least consider destroying the recordings of games in which he's dunked over in the low post.

Stern is warming up to the idea.

As this round winds down, please be aware that the Boxers will be willing to work a trade starting with their 5.3 pick to move high into the 4th round. Please PM me if you have interest

witht the 83rd pick in the 2009 celticsblog draft, the Dallas Mavericks select...

SF Shawn Marion

I like what going on in Dallas. 120 PPG potential but how many points will be given up?

I don't know about that.  Everything on offense is based around Kidd creating the shots for the other guys.  Should be fine against the average team, but the top defensive teams they likely would face in the playoffs, big issues.

Oh I 100% agree. This team is still incomplete but it's flawed in the half court set (playoff basketball) at the moment. I was referring to the regular season...

I feel like a good three point shooting big goes very well with Steve Nash and the Wariors system, thoughts?

oh we most certainly have our flaws, but this team is scary good in transition already.  we still need a shooter (besides murphy) to spread the floor, but you cant cover all bases in 4 picks.

we will get beat up a bit by bigger teams, but don't overlook the ability of marion/smith/kidd to play solid defense.

Another good starting C off the board.

Looks like they are rebuilding the Jazz with Nash instead of Williams.
