To close out the 2nd day of drafting, the Houston Rockets select, the 18th pick of the 2008 draft: Monta Ellis.

And once again we are thrilled to land a player we had at the top of our draft board the entire round.

Kudos. A nice big 3 you've put together, Dubs.

I like the Ellis selection quite a bit.  He was under strong consideration in the 2nd.

haha exactly Nick... Tim Duncan and Ben Gordon and I'm getting ZERO love in this draft. I'm wondering where I went wrong already haha
Plenty of draft left my friend, still lots of quality players, no team has even picked a starting 5 yet.

That won't stop lots of GMs proclaiming their (or some otehr team) the best so far.

It is silly though. Teams are 8-15 guys, not who has the best 2 guys. Lots of real NBA teams have proven this.

Houston's done well for themselves.

he was in Orlando too Roy... Ellis here is a really good pick.

Minor downside --- Monta was one of 12 guys to miss 25+ games last year.  A staggeringly high number, IMO. Actually twice as many as the 6 guys who missed 25+ games in the first round last year.

Good and deep will always beat top heavy and mediocre in my book.

If you have a 5th rounder and you're looking for some picks in the 6-8 range, PM the Bulls.

Also if you want out of the 3rd round, the Bulls will offer you a 4th and 6th.

Philly is willing to move down in the 3rd from the 3.10 or out of the 3rd completely.

Before agreeing to a trade, give Edgar and I a chance to match.  We'll listen to GMs either moving up or down.

Boxers are looking to move into the late 3rd or early 4th round and will start all negotiations with their 5th(3) pick and offer consideration in further rounds, all above the 12th round.
