  • Ainge *still* has a Posse! Ubuntu Y'all
Thanks to the teams who've sent offers on 1-2-or-3 of the ORLANDO MAGICS' three 4th rounders (3, 10, 12)

We're gonna be taking a long look at who goes and stays on the board throughout the 3rd round, so as you see your guy slipping late, drop me or Lucky17 a PM with an offer. A few caveats:

- it's very unlikely we'd trade all three 4ths, but you never know. Make us look like liars with a great offer!

- TP for any solid or well thought offer. And we'll probably give one for half-baked offers too.

Good luck tomorrow, and remember: Ubuntu, Y'all!

Welcome back to... *FWOOSH!* - the CelticsBlog Fantasy Draft Recap!

TOM: So Day 2 had a ton of action - starting off strong and never really slowing down. What are your initial thoughts, Steve?

STEVE: The second round began with a bang, as the remaining players we had initially projected as Round 1 picks flew off the board, followed by tons of great value picks throughout the entire round. I thought the most interesting part was the late run on big men at the end, and all the last-minute trades this precipitated. Watching half the GMs in the league try to claw their way back into the second round was like watching a pack of fat kids trying to break into an all-you-can-eat candy buffet. Assuming those kids only wanted candy that could rebound and play solid defense.

TOM: ...That's the stupidest thing you've ever said, Steve.

STEVE: I was also intrigued by the momentary reunion of Stephen Jackson and Ron Artest in Washington, which lasted just long enough for David Stern's head to explode. Thankfully, after a minute or two, the Boxers realized they had doomed all life in the greater DC area and immediately traded Artest to the Suns. In exchange they received a later pick they turned into Andris Biedrins, as well as a full-time anger management therapist to join Jackson's entourage. The over/under for "felonies committed by Washington players" immediately dropped back down to 2.5.

TOM: It's a shame about Stern, though. He'll be missed. Any other thoughts?

STEVE: While some GMs are simply drafting the best available players, we're clearly starting to see a master plan emerge for some teams. The Spurs, with Rose and Mayo, appear to be building for the future, and will be a force to be reckoned with in a couple of years. The Jazz, on the other hand, with Billups and Nowitski, are clearly banking on making a run within the next year or two. Toronto, with Garnett and Arenas, seems determined to shatter the single-season record for "most games missed due to injury". Though you have to like their chances if they stay healthy.

TOM: True enough. They may be one of the early favorites if they can cross that hurdle. Thanks for the time, Steve.

STEVE: Anytime, Tom.
Ahh, I guess any press is better than no press at all.

Yes, the three seconds or so that the Boxers owned Ron Ron did vex management as even a three second exposure to Artest can drive some humans to do things that they otherwise might not. Thank goodness the Boxers kept Jackson locked away in the team war room until a late afternoon press conference.

All the good people of the DC area can now unlock their doors, put their guns back away and fear not. The Boxers are no longer in possession of Mr Ron Artest and have zero interest in drafting Jermaine O'Neal or any of those other former 2004 Indiana Pacers.

The Boxers would also like to state that none of these statements should reflect poorly upon the current Indiana Pacers or their fabulous new general manager, StartOrien, who has done an exemplary job since taking control of that franchise.

So are you going to just trademark the 11th round now?

No but as some of you guys are wondering what gem you might steal in the late rounds, I'll fill my entire bench with all the solid players left in the draft.

I keep my 15th rounder for tradition

Holy crap, nick. I've heard of controlling a round, but that's ridiculous.

To close out the 2nd day of drafting, the Houston Rockets select, the 18th pick of the 2008 draft: Monta Ellis.

And once again we are thrilled to land a player we had at the top of our draft board the entire round.

Plan to use him as a PG or 6th man.
