I think in the past 3 days the Magic have become the team to beat in the East. Snap opinion but look at the depth. Great job GC...just wish you weren't such a tight wad  ;D

Magics are good. I liked the Bulls pickups of Bogans, Deshawn, Mihm, and Crittendon for their D league bench too ;)

I think the Bulls did a great job too, but obviously you have no answer for Lebron..but beyond that look at the defensive depth GC has. Varejao, Foster match up really well with Horford Gasol, and even though like Lebron there is no true answer for Chris Paul, Hinrich will do a good job bullying him when he can.

I don't really like the starting frontcourt for the Magic..they're skilled but not overwhelming..but the defensive depth really puts them right at the top.

I think the Magics/Bulls game will be classics. We hope the refs aren't scared to blow the whistle on his Majesty, when he has to help on CP3, Kevin Martin and Pau. :)

Raja, Bogans and Deshawn were all seen in the weight room preparing the Lebron rules (mainly make him shoot the jumper)

Also, since there is going to be a second voting or season this year for the first time will the commissioner open up another trade period before that second season?

I don't think that was the idea. i think the 2nd voting session (at the Allstar Break) was to see how the same teams look midway through the season, and then a final one at the end of the season.
I think it would add a fun dimension to the game as injuries and performances will effect the value of players and make trading a fun sort of twist to improve each team between seasons

Unless there's one of those racks from midieval dungeons i don't know how the 6-5 Bell, Bogans, Stevenson are gonna handle the 6-8 James. So good luck with that. 8)

Interesting too that you added Stevenson and Bogans after we said in the chat you had no answer for Lebron  ;)

It is rumored that Stephen Jackson suggested that the LeBron strategy against the Magic in the playoffs will be for Gerald Green to enter the game and proceed to punch LeBron in the face and start a fight to get LeBron thrown out of each game they play against the Boxers in the playoffs.

It is also rumored that Van Gundy actually didn't laugh at Jackson's joke but walk away contemplating deeply.

not a big deal -- and is of course subject to Don's ruling(s) -- but there's only 1 "season".... the real season.

the first round of voting is gonna be based on the Press Conferences.

but..... some of the teams will turn out to be not as good b/c of injuries, players underperforming, etc. And some will be better b/c of same.

so the 2nd (all-star) voting and 3rd voting (playoffs/postseason) will be a look back to see how (if at all) the first round of voting was right or wrong.

See that's growth. Steven Jax is no longer throwing the punches, but delegating the punches to a clueless teammate.

And not to mention Van Gundy not saying a cliche and/or obnoxious joke but deciding to "contemplate deeply"..are you sure you didn't hire Bill Walton?

Well Gerald has to be able to contribute somehow, right?

Obivoulsy Gasol and Horford are both BETTER than Varejao and Foster, but do you think AV and JF can limit your boys offensively? That's a big part of your strategy, yeah?

Well a big part of out strategy is to run, but I don't think Hinrich and Richardson can contain CP3 and Martin. I like that they have a lot of bigs, b/c foul trouble will be an issue. We can also take out CP3 and Horford and still have Pau and Martin in the game or vice versa. If they take out two of their top 4, how will their offense be? Or just taking Lebron out? Who is their #2? J-Rich?  It's just my opinion, but I think that the Bulls 4th best player Horford is better than whoever is the Magics 2nd best player. That's huge.

Orlando has the better backup bigs, which you need with the lesser starters, but I'm not a huge fan of their backups at the 1,2, and 3. Obviously Hinrich will have to be in the game whenever Paul is in. I think the Magics are good, b/c of Lebron, but suffer from the same problem the real Cavs do. No other star. No other all-star guard or big man to go to down low.

I see a lot of the my player is better than that player but this player isn't as good as that player when mentioning team matchups. The thing is though how do the teams match up. The C's championship year the Celtics owned the individual matchups against Charlotte right down to the team mascots, but that team drove the C's, maybe one of the best teams of the last 10-12 years nuts. Their style and athleticism gave the Celtics fits. Same with Atlanta.

Team's are not better than other teams because 4 of their starters are better than 4 of the other teams starters individually. It comes down to team weaknesses and style and strengths not individuals. Larry Bird was always better than Michael Cooper but on more than a few occasions it was Cooper who won the matchup because of his ability to take Larry out of his game. It was a good style and strength vs style and strength match.
