Absolutely.  I wouldn't go a penny over, but for the vet minimum, I don't know if there are many better options...and there is still a chance he really breaks out, after having a full training camp with the team.

Marbury doesn't seem like a guy that will be a good trooper if he has to go back to Boston and accept an offer he thinks is to small.

Well according to the articles from when he said goodbye, he has 3 teams interested.

But I think he will be back as soon as DA stops being a tool and offers him minimum for 2 years.

And Marbury at no point I guaranteed had any interest in Washington. It all started with some stupid Berman article about how him and Flip talked during the playoffs.

I would actually prefer Marbury to Tyrone Lue. I think with a full training camp and pre-season, Marbury would be much more productive than last season. My only worry is how would he affect team chemistry over the long haul of 100 plus games.

Thoughts? Who are other options for the backup PG slot?

No.  The real reason involves Eddie House.  I don't want two guys that short sharing the back court together. If Eddie wasn't here, and our backup at the two was a typical two, then no problem.

If our second unit played a swarming defense, then maybe, but if that were the case, then that would be better suited for younger guys.  Doc rarely has ever played that style for the second unit.

Either way, I think three months of Marbury was plenty. He worked hard, but he's not a good fit.

Three teams might have contacted his agent but that doesn't mean three teams have offered him more money than the Celtics. If all the money is the same then I bet he signs a one year vet min deal here.
