good...keep charlie V away from the cavs

I'd prefer the Cavs to have wasted their MLE on Charlie, than to be getting Artest. Then again I haven't watched that much of Charlie these past two yrs. Always struck me as kind of a Tim Thomas motor.

Thanks again, Joe!

If I was a Pistons fan, I might barf.  Their impact signings are two shot-happy tweeners who have probably tapped out their potential.  Perpetual mediocrity here they come.

I like it for em. Trade rip for either boozer or a guy like Kaman you have a nice starting lineup with some good players off the bench.

This sucks for the Bulls, huh?  They were looking like a strong young team against us in the playoffs this year then they lost one of their star players in the off-season.  They might not even make the playoffs this year.  At best they'll probably be an 8 seed.

Treading water, they're still done, reminds me of a Raptors' signing.

And this is bad because?

I agree with your statements, and this is one less team the C's have to worry about in the EC.

This is great news for the rest of the league.

Takes Detroit out of the running for another title for the time being.

Unless Stuckey suddenly puts it together and becomes a quality PG. Then they'd be a big away from being a force in the playoffs. I suppose that is what Dumars is aiming for, that's how his previous team was built. But Rasheed Wallace's don't always just fall into your lap.

You can't pay a one dimensional player like Gordon 11 million a year though. Just a bad move.

Well said.  I guess Joe determined that no big free agents wanted to make their home in Detroit next season.  I can't say that I would blame them, but I still would have taken the gamble if I was Dumars.  Charlie V and Gordon are never going to be much more than they are now.  They can score, but neither has much interest in defense.

Whenever I think about Ben Gordon's value, the half-time show on TNT where Charles and Kenny were just making fun of him as a "magnet" during our playoff series with them pops into my head.

So Dumars traded a competitive basketball season + Chauncey Billups for the ability to sign two players that play positions he already has addressed? I don't get it... he would have been better off overpaying David Lee.
