please don't overvalue him. Can he create his own shot? No. He is just 3point shooter. Eddie already has that role.

He CAN create his own shot. He can drive and he can finish too. Have you seen him play?

yeah i like outlaw too, theyre different players though. plus outlaws not irate with Portland and possibly looking to leave...so i didn't think to discuss his positives now.

I have to agree with the two other guys above you. i was actually impressed with his play making ability when i saw him play. I admit though, i've only seen him play like 3 times.

I'm not saying he'll be a star like Manu is, but at least comparable in a couple years. And do we need a play making sg?? I thought thats what rondo was for. And ray allen doesn't make many plays, and half of his shots are 3's? So if your scouting of rudy is in fact correct....i would like what i hear anyway.

Still don't think we have a shot to get him though

No 1st round picks going out.  That would be the 2011 pick.

I'd love Fernandez here. He's a great shooter, and great finisher, Perfect player to pair alongside Rondo, not to mention all the other stuff he does well.

lol at Fernandez being better than Turkoglu? At what? Turk is a better man defender (though he is average) and rebounder since he is so tall for his position. Ferandez is a softie who couldnt hit a clutch shot if his life depended on it.turkoglu is one of the most clutch players in the league and can drive for a tough hoop and pull up for his patented step back jumper.

Turkoglu also acted as the traffic cop for the orlando offense and is the second best forward at running the pick and roll behind lebron. the only thing fernandez is better at is catching and shooting and there are 50 guys in the league who can do that. in trugh, rudy is a bum who is very expendable. turkoglu is a rare commodity and is easily a top 30 player in the league.

expect orlando to fade this year without hedo. no way chokers like howard and lewis and carter can compete with the celtics and cavs.

no comparison between hedo and rudy. not even close.hedo is a borderline all star. rudy is far from that.maybe in the future.

Stop it, you'll make Rudy "fume" again.

it is a sham the turkoglu was not an all star last year. heck, even this past year was an all star year (how did nelson make the team again?) for hedo. dont give me stats either because hedo brings his game in the 4th quarter when his team needs it the most. and besides, field goal percentage is overrated.

rudy fernandez needs to shut up and start hitting his shots (which is all he can do other wise he is useless) in the playoffs. otherwise, that bum will be sent back to spain faster than you can say jibrone.

I think Rudy learned that sometimes coming to the NBA just isn't worth it. You end up with a crap contract for a few year when you could be making real money in Europe.

As Portland pursues Hedo Turkoglu, they have angered Rudy Fernandez in the process, according to sources.

Fernandez would prefer to play in Greece, Russia or even Spain again.

A league source told ESPN.com that Fernandez has already been courted informally by European powerhouses Olympiacos, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and CSKA Moscow.

Fernandez, who paid more than $500,000 of his own money to buy his way out of his contract with DKV Joventut, believes he can earn 5 million euros per season if he signs a three-year contract in Europe. He is due to make $1.1 million from the Blazers next season.

The problem for Fernandez from a leverage standpoint is that he is entering the second year of his NBA rookie contract, and the Blazers have the option to re-sign him for a third and/or fourth season. Fernandez would have to be released from his NBA contract in order to receive a letter of clearance from FIBA, the sport's international governing body, to play elsewhere.

The Blazers have been made aware of Fernandez's feelings, the source said.

Seems like a bit of a baby , but is very talented. I wonder if Portland would consider trading him. He would be a perfect backup for Ray and could replace Ray as a starter next year.

BOS SENDS: Walker, Giddens, future 1st

Por Sends: Rudy

I don't know if he'll definitely replace Ray next year anyway, and if he's not happy about being behind Turkoglu, he won't be happy being buried behind two future Hall of Famers at the 2/3 here either.

Yes, I think Ray, being a pure shooter, will still be effective even when his athletic ability is gone. Rudy will not start while Ray is in town.

It will be interesting to see what Ray's shot looks like when his legs go. Someone like Wally can shoot forever since he never jumps. Even Paul doesn't jump on 3's. But Ray's legs are so important to his shot.
