Ross, Jones, Zaza and others are off the board... Just an update on who's left.

big men:
L. Odom 6-10 30 - looks to be staying in LA
D. Gooden 6-10 28
J. Smith 6-10 34
F. Oberto 6-10 34
C. Wilcox 6-11 27
R. Nesterovic 7-0 33
C. Frye 6-11 26 - CLE in pursuit

Swingmen: 3/4 or 3/2:
G. Hill 6-8 37 - NYK in the lead
M. Daniels 6-6 28
M. Barnes 6-7 29 - going to be hard to pry from the south west
W. Herrmann 6-9 30
W. Szczerbiak 6-7 32
I. Udoka 6-5 32
R. Carney 6-7 25
K. Bogans 6-5 29
J. Stackhouse 6-6 35 (if bought out)
B. Bowen 6-8 38 (if bought out)

Point Guards
A. Iverson 6-0 34 - looks to be MIA or MEM
A. Miller 6-2 33
S. Marbury 6-2 32 - Europe?
B. Knight 5-10 34
B. Jackson 6-1 36

Who will be a good fit for the $1.9 mil? Or the minimum? Especially if we loose out on Hill and Baby.

1. Resign BBD or sign Wilcox, Smith, or Nesterovic to the minimum.

2. Sign Bobby Jackson to the vet. minimum as backup point guard / mentor for Pruitt or Hudson.

3. Sign Daniels, Barnes, Udoka, or Bogans.  Perhaps a couple of those.

Probably the best we can do at this point.

ssspence, you've got me pondering Bogans...

paintitgreen, I like the idea of adding Herrmann to the team - you can always find a place for guys who can shoot, and aren't stiffs.

Size of a SF, slow as a PF...couldn't find a place on a crappy Detroit team last year.

No thanks.

imagine for a second a playoff game where we have Rondo, Ray, _____ , Wallace and Perk on the floor. Sub in KG for Perk or Wallace, PP for Peirce, whatever.

The opponent is LeBron, or Wade, or VC or Ben Gordon, i.e. either a SG or a SF, and we need to free up PP or Ray to perserve some energy on defense.

I felt Ross would be perfect for this. He's gone to Dallas. Next most approriate guy on the list to me is Bogans. And if he is out there with Rondo, Pierce and two bigs, he CAN spread the floor and shoot the three in addition to his D, while also being dependable and (unlike TA) under control and not turnover prone.

Bogans is the exact opposite of Tony.  He's not super athletic, he can hit open shots, and he has a very low turnover rate.

Their only similarity is their size and their decent defense.

1.1 Assists to .8 TO's seems pretty high to me.

His turnover rate was 9 last season and 6.7 the season before.

Tony Allen's was 16.2 last season and 15.8 the season before.

That's a huge difference.

My bad I thought you meant Ast to TO ratio.

Tony's was pretty atrocious though. I just meant Bogans seems to be scraping the bottom of the barrel a bit.

It is, a bit, but unfortunately it's probably the best we can do if Hill is not an option.

If we don't get Hill, our only other options are guys in the 10-12 PER range.  Meaning bottom of the barrel pickups.

I'm not really liking what's left out there at SF.  Maybe our best bet is to use that LLE on a pg and try and trade for a SF?

What do you guys think about Carney?

TP to Mr October for a great thread.

If we don't get Hill - I'd look for a trade using whatever of Scal/Tony/JR/Walker/Pruitt. The last two years have been pickup a big and PG mid season, this year it might be get a wing.

I would still wait till midseason or at least after camp to see how the youngsters pan out.
