I'd still like Marbury back for the vet minimum but that might be a pipedream now.

Hill & Parker are the two that would be my top 2 pursuits right now.  Obviously, if we get one, don't need the other but they're at the top of my wishlist.

hill or parker

then move the world and BBD, scal and tony to get Andre miller
before season starts

Play with Powe or swift or moore as backup center
use lester as 3rd pg
use walker as 3rd sg
use giddens as 3rd sf
use moore or swift as 3rd string center
pray for powe to rehab and sign him for cheap.

If we land Hill, I have zero interest in a ball dominating PG off the bench. Hill would be the point forward.

I don't think we have a shot at Miller. He wants big money and big minutes. He's starter quality.

Even if we get Davis, I'd like some insurance at center: Oberto, Nesterovic? Not sure if they'd take such a small role/paycheck though.

I hear u
I like the idea of oberto
actually LOVE it

my mancrush in Miller is very well documented
and I am worried with no natural PGs in our team
If we get oberto we will be soft at pg and have the same
pressure problem
and after all even if Hill have the ball he can struggle against faster pg too much
even if he can dominate other pgs
and that makes me think on playing House and Hill together as much as i like the idea
they still need a good backup pg
Imagine a rondo injury...  :-X... devastation

Ross, Jones, Zaza and others are off the board... Just an update on who's left.

big men:
L. Odom 6-10 30 - looks to be staying in LA
D. Gooden 6-10 28
J. Smith 6-10 34
F. Oberto 6-10 34
C. Wilcox 6-11 27
R. Nesterovic 7-0 33
C. Frye 6-11 26 - CLE in pursuit

Swingmen: 3/4 or 3/2:
G. Hill 6-8 37 - NYK in the lead
M. Daniels 6-6 28
M. Barnes 6-7 29 - going to be hard to pry from the south west
W. Herrmann 6-9 30
W. Szczerbiak 6-7 32
I. Udoka 6-5 32
R. Carney 6-7 25
K. Bogans 6-5 29
J. Stackhouse 6-6 35 (if bought out)
B. Bowen 6-8 38 (if bought out)

Point Guards
A. Iverson 6-0 34 - looks to be MIA or MEM
A. Miller 6-2 33
S. Marbury 6-2 32 - Europe?
B. Knight 5-10 34
B. Jackson 6-1 36

Who will be a good fit for the $1.9 mil? Or the minimum? Especially if we loose out on Hill and Baby.

If Cleveland lands Frye, that Means Joe Smith is a gonner. Would he fit with the Celtics now that Wallace is on board?

Or should we focus on someone who can hold their ground at the 5 like Oberto?

I'd happily sign Smith for the vet min.

fixed. But i don't think we helps. He's not much of a shooter, and doesn't have much size if he has to play SF.

What about Marquis Daniels? I haven't seen him play for a while. But I thought at the time he had a good game. But again, he's probably too small to be much help.  :(

I'd rather have BBD than Smith. BBD can defend against post up 5's, while Sheed can cover jump shooting 4's.  I don't see Smith manning up as well as Baby against beefy 5's.

Drew Gooden is still unsigned. Anyone know the reason why?

actually i think bogans is a) very strong -- which helps him being only 6'5", and b) a better shooter than his numbers from last year. He's a legit catch and shoot three point threat, at least in the company of the rest of the options here.

Any thoughts on Herrman? I'd actually like him as a backup 3 if we could get him for the a minimum contract (what he played for last year) or the LLE. After coming on really strong two years ago, he got buried the past two seasons but we do have a strong need at small forward. Maybe it's because he's not good enough, but he seems okay to me when I watch him play. Thoughts?
Go Celtics.
