Once again:  GMs should shop around, because Edgar and I would have beat this offer.

I encourage my fellow GM's you use last years draft http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=21682.0 as a reference. There is a lot of overvaluing and undervaluing going on.

I encourage the GM of Boston to shut his pie-hole!!!  ;D

How are we gonna swindle people if they have a better sense of the value of picks?

Do you think we could have gotten the 14.29 from Buffalo for the 14.30 if he'd understood that it was the difference between Joey Dorsey and Nathan Jawai?!?!?!?

Or that Philly was GIVING AWAY a shot at this years' Melvin Ely/Dan Dickau combo when he sent us the 14.27 & 14.28 for the 14.12 and 15.19?!?!?

Sheesh, no TP for you Jsaad!!

Portland has finalized its pre-draft stable of picks, and plans on staying put until players are on the board.  Offers, as usual, will be considered, but we're pretty content with six picks in the first 3 1/2 rounds.

Right now, the net effect of our trades has been:

POR trades: 1(16), 5(16), 10(15), 12(15)

POR receives: 2(5), 3(12), 4(5), 7(3), 13(27), 13(28)

That's pretty fair value, I think.  (We're not in love with the deal we made with nick, but we'll see who's left on the board in the 13th).

The Bulls are going to end up with a super-elite player out of this.  Good trade for them, especially landing an early #3, as well.

I get Memphis' reasoning, in that they'll get two good players, but I like it quite a bit better for Chicago.

In Toronto we have only kept one of our original picks and that is the 28th pick in the 8th round

The Bulls are going to end up with a super-elite player out of this.

We felt the difference between the 9th and 19th pick is minimal. Last Year the ninth was Amar'e and the 19th was Pierce. The 11th was Brand the 21st was Boozer. The difference between the two picks is minimal, and if we had to drop 10 picks to pick up an extra second, so be it. The "Super-Elite" players stop at 5 with two super-elite prospects mixed in, thats 7 picks. Even barring one bad pick we don't get a franchise player, so this move made a lot of sense for us.
