I second the notion that foreign and retired players be re-evaluated.  Hopefully the rules are clearer.  I still think my move of drafting reggie miller in the 13th round was classic, but I dont know if it is something we should allow

I think you can draft whoever you want, but if they're not playing in the NBA as of next season, they're not playing for your team.

I think the rules were you can draft whoever, but they're as likely to play in the fantasy world as they are in real life.

In other words, injured players are still injured.  Players under contract to foreign squads are still ineligible to play in America.  Retired players are likely to stay retired. 

I would say the rules should be kept the same.  I mean, take Ricky Rubio for instance.  He's probably headed back to Spain.  I think that needs to be evaluated when he is drafted, but I also think he should be draft eligible.

I think Rubio would come to the right team in the right situation. He doesn't believe Minnesota to be so but let's say you were Miami, a warm weather city with a large Spanish speaking population, maybe he comes over right away.

I agree that Rubio is the one and only exception. Rubio and possibly Josh Childress.

FWIW, I second this interpretation  --- it adds to some of the challenge/unpredictablity of this whole wonderful experiment 

There are A LOT (a surprising # when I starting looking at my draft board) of guys who were injured last season and it'll be fascinating to see how/if it affects their draft positions.

last year you could draft guys but had to make the case for why they'd be able to play for your team (injured or overseas). I think it should be the same this year.

Yeah, its close.  Still having some discussions with staff.  I'm not sure I'll have it up before Wednesday's draft order is announced, though.

For some unbenounced reason, the fake Miami Heat announced today that they will be moving their franchise to Cuba.  Heat ownership issued this statement today:

"Miami is a great city and we've really enjoyed having our franchise here for many years, but at this time it makes financial sense for us to move to a building that costs us less to lease - and the wonderful people in Cuba have provided that.  We feel that although we will miss Miami - our fan base should remain pretty much the same here in Cuba.  We look forward to the upcoming season and to having an NBA franchise in a place even crazier than Miami"

Reports are saying that the Heat's new home could possibly be in Guantanamo Bay, but this is unconfirmed at this time.  Stay tuned for more info.
